Interesting.

Down here in San Diego, it lasted five seconds, if that. But it was pretty violent, not a slow roller at all.

5.9 near Borrego Springs (http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsus/Quakes/ci10736069.html#details).

I felt one big roll, seemed like about 5 seconds.

But, the team in the next bay said they felt something for like 20 seconds.

Everything moves side to side and sometimes you can hear sounds like rumbling, if it's a really bad one I get a lil dizzy. I'm more afraid of the thunderstorms in Co. lol!

Do some people that live in California still freak out about earth quakes or are they calm like you guys?

Its the rest of the country that freaks out because minor quakes here, that produce zero damage or casualties, are reported all over the country. Then i get dumb text messages asking me if I'm ok. My full glass of water didn't even spill.

For the most part long time California residents dont really freak out. I was in the office when it hit and no one went outside or got under a desk. People talked about for 5 mins then went on with the day

I agree, just saying the local news dedicates an hour to the earthquake. I didn't feel it, since I was far enough away from the epicenter.

That one shook pretty good here in OC for about 25 seconds or so. Kind of a slow rolling, and some shaking.

Usually, if you feel the violent quick ones, they feel as if a truck rammed into your building. The slow, rolling ones feel as if your house is on a big water bed.

People in Southern California are hilarious. They don't really pay much attention to the earthquakes, even the larger ones. But if a rainstorm hits, people freak out like crazy and forget how to drive.

I think that was probably the most shake I've felt from a quake in 11 years in SD.
