They're merging video games with cinema far too much, imo.
What happened to the days when they just let you play and let your imagination fill in the gaps.
Zelda you had a hat and could shoot a sword and you slowly pieced wtf you were doing together after you got 3 little yellow triangles.
The first castlevania had you killing undead with a whip and throwing axes. Awesome.
Video games these days are little more than interactive movies, where you spam one button and somehow do amazing combos. That was cool at first in the original Devil May Cry, but they all do it now. No games are hard anymore, whereas a good chunk of original NES games were damn near impossible.
Less story, less cinematics, more play.

Not to **** on your thread but I am extemely disheartened about the lack of innovation on display at this year's e3. That said I'm also a little bitter since I was supposed to be getting tanked at the chateau right now with some dumb blondes.

They didn't even show the game play.
The last Castlevania I played was symphony of the night and it was one the best games I played for play station.

In defence of the game - this one actually looks like it could be pretty good.
Of course it's not going to live up to the original - but I expect it to be good in it's own right.
As for E3, there are some really exciting games on the horizon on all platforms...maybe not the wii?

Tell me what exciting games are on the horizon. For me it's all sequels and more shooters. Sony used a 15 year old franchise (Twisted Metal) as their "amazing surprise".
