And who do the Republicans have up their sleeves to contest with him in 2012? Gonna through the pair of tits out there again and see can come up with a constitutional law dissent this time around?

Oh give me a break. Like the Dems knew who Obama was 2 yrs into Bush. It won't be Palin she knows her place won't be on a ticket. Could be Romney though out of the known guys. Could be someone that is a huge surprise. Maybe not even the repub.

Obama was qualified, charismatic, and black. The Republicans don't have anything like that.
Could he lose? Yes. Will he? I wouldn't bet on it.

Cap and trade is going nowhere. It won't get passed in this session, so will have to be re-introduced anew in the next session where there will be a new and substantial Republican presence that will not vote for it. Any Dem in a district where they'll be fighting for their lives wouldn't touch cap and trade with a 10 foot pole since it'd be their political hide.
The fact that Obama didn't even mention it in his snoozer last night tells me he may already realize it's dead in this session. As for BP, if it turns out that they were negligent or deliberately substandard in their drilling operation, they deserve to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. For his part, Obama has demonstrated his utter inability to lead, to flourish under pressure, or to understand the sheer emotional, economic, cultural, and environmental consequences of this disaster. He's approaching this like a personal injury attorney when America needs General Patton.

Look no one has defended oil as much as me , Nuke power , oil , coal , I have defended it all , Hell I remember 2 idiots arguing shale oil with me , Shale is still the future , but these 2 idiots said shale was bust cause they didnt see profits from it ( you 2 know who you are ) , but BP just about handcuffed everyone in fossil fuels , kinda letting the fox into the hen house ......... The new restrictions will be so tight , so rigid ..............it will be cheaper and easier to go green ,by the time these lawyers in D.C. are done ........... **** you BP .... shell is a much better outfit any way

Oh please. The man is incredibly intelligent, highly educated, and doesn't run an intellectually disinterested Administration like his predecessor.
But feel free to throw out the experience card. That's all anybody has to claim he wasn't qualified.

Being "incredibly intelligent", and Highly educated" does not make you a good leader...which is what we needed.
And I think not having experience should be looked at, and not tossed aside as you are doing. I'd rather have someone who knows what the hell they are doing...and clearly he does not. People are beginning to see that now.

So your saying without the spill Obama was going to give up on cap and trade? No way if anything he is just using the spill to push his agenda. It's not much different then repubs using security to fire up there issues and base after an attack.

The hard part is proving intent over just plain negligence. Did they intentionally go lax and knowingly put gulf at risk, or are they just stupid.
We don't punish stupid as much in this country.

Bush had more governing/leading experience in his pinkie than Obama has altogether.
Dude, try this. Try and talk to people like a normal person, rather than calling everyone that you dislike names.

He probably doesn't have a college degree and is mostly just using truckstop knowledge to combat you. Because of that you will never see eye to eye with him or really even understand him. The internet brings people together who would never interact in the real world because of these huge differences. It can be fun, entertaining, and even sometimes enlightening......but mostly just entertaining.

I know but repubs result was country turning on them and getting asses kicked in elections. That's the problem even though nothing Obama can do about oil, the fact the govt didn't make people in south happy will hurt dems in elections. The govt could have made it easier to get oil skimming ships, booms, alternative this and that. Probably wouldn't have kept oil out but won some public opinion.
Pretty much no way this doesn't cost Obama votes. In elections that get tight fast it doesn't take too many bad issues before the other side has a real good chance to win.
I'd say Obama still needs some more things to not go his way before he is in real dire straights, but for sure he's struggling.

this has a more direct effect , and much different ..in 9-11 we had a target , in Katrina we had a clear goal and a way to achieve that goal , here we dont have **** but BP ........we cant hang the people at BP , nor declare war on them , But the envio nazis now have ammunition to further their agenda , iwas sitting at the keys truck stop ( some punk tried to rob me at knife point ,but thats for a different thread ) this guy pops off , Says this is all Obamas fault for letting em drill this deep , they have no business in that deep of water .........I said dude , Canada has been drilling at 8 thousand feet or better for over a year , I said 3 years ago , they couldnt get enough 13 foot collars up there ..........So he said then what went wrong ? I told him drilling in deep waters is safe as long as 1999 Protocols was followed .......I said yes BP and Haliburton took short cuts , they wanted to cap this well until prices went up , but doing it on the cheap they ****ed up , the BOP didnt work etc then I said all BP did was open the gte to the hen house and let the fox in ...........Then I looked him right in the eye and said , I dont mind people having an opinion , but i it to much to read up on it before forming an opinion ? he got up and left ..........
