Wow, this should be stickied!!!!

I bet that Cleveland DE Dave Puzzuuli still goes around telling people. "No, really, on The Drive . . . I sacked John Elway!"

I was only 9 at the time and watched it but I didn't really understand the importance of what happened at the time. I really wish I was born a few years earlier so I could have enjoyed the Orange Crush and the 1977 season, as well as the beginning of Elway's career. Of course, then I'd be in my 40's now. Blah.

Thanks for posting this. It's great to relive.

No penalties on the drive.

All that noise, and the poise of the Oline and the players was just as important.

Reeves had these guys disciplined.

Awesome memory.

On the Broncos first set of first downs, from the 2 yard line, Reeves called a pass play on 1st down, which worked, and then he calls two running plays to Sammy Winder and they barely got the first down. Got to love that Dan Reeves play calling.

We've got these guys right where we want them

Keith was very underrated. Guards get zero respect.

I really wanted someone to smash Kosar in the face. What an arrogant prick that guy was.
That ass always thought he should be handed a Super Bowl.
Funny to see Clint Sampson and think he's passed on.

While Karlis will always be remembered for that kick, that even to this day Browns fans will tell you was wide-right, the rest of his career wasn't all that bad either. Playing for 3 teams over a nine-year career, Karlis made 172 field goals and 283 extra point attempts for 799 points and also holds Super Bowl records for most field goals attempts with six, and other records including most consecutive field goals made as a rookie with thirteen in 1982.

In Super Bowl XXI, Karlis had the dubious distinction of tying the record for longest field goal made(48 yards), while setting the record for shortest FG miss(23 yards). Over all, Karlis was 3/6 that day, another indication of just how tough SB 21 was.
