Tier 2

San Francisco 49ers: The Niners are a "hot" team poised to take the next step. They play very good defense (17.6 points per game) and quarterback Alex Smith is ready to play winning football. Look for WR Michael Crabtree to have a fine season and remember the Niners beat Arizona twice last year.

move along people....nothing to see here

I would have given the Broncos tier 3, but when looking at the tier 3 teams and the tier 4 teams, they are more in line with the tier 4 teams. I'd say that there isn't a big difference between any of those teams at this point.

They've been saying that for three years.

They've been saying that for three years.

And each of those years we have proved them dead wrong buy showing the world that we should be considered nothing if not a Tier 3 team. Will they never learn?

Edit, just read the post you were quoting and realized that my response has absolutely nothing to do with your post. I'm clearly a Tier 5 poster today.

Pat Kirwin is a douche. He plays favorites with teams - especially ones that have USC players.

San Fran are the new Chuggers. Best 8-8 team ever.

Broncos fans looked up one day and their favorite stars -- from head coach to quarterback and finally receiver -- were gone.

GFY Pat, that was over a year ago for most of that crap...good lord

Aside from the 49ers and the Giants, all the tier one and two teams are playoff teams so I don't understand the criticism of the rankings.

Kirwan knows rankings are just rankings. It's just fun stuff for fans (and analysts) to debate about.

I write the same thing no matter what Kirwin writes and you can go back and search my previous comments on Kirwin. If he had said we were going to win the SB I would have said the same thing.

And we lost to 3 - Tier 3 teams and 2 - Tier 5 teams last year.

Dude, I have to respectfully disagree. Kirwan and Ryan have without a doubt the most insightful NFL talk program going.

The 4 headed monster runs wild.

Another mysterious sight appeared in the sky. There was a huge red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and a crown on each of his heads.

I really like their show myself but that doesn't mean they don't have biases and/or just are flat out wrong sometime.

They both loved Chicago getting Cutler last year. Hell of a miss there. They continue to try and support it.

Hell, just this week they've at one point talked about how the Bears are poised to turn it around with Martz, but never mentioned the complete lack of OL talent, and then the next day acted like there is no way the Broncos D does well despite significant DL upgrades because they 1. don't have a name ILB next to DJ (didn't have one last year though) and 2. let Nolan go.

They where big Shanahan guys, we catch flak no matter what as a result of that. They're big Mike Nolan guys, we catch flak because of that. Kirwan is very outspoken at his displeasure with the trend of new, young HCs getting to call the shots (makes sense, he's a former FO guy and that means fewer power FO positions). They have great takes on most things and offer great insight, but they do not present an honest take on the Broncos.

So the Four Horseman of the Broncopalypse would be Bowlen, McD, Xanders and Orton?

Orton is one of the Dragon heads. He can't be one of the horsemen too. The other one is obv Ben McDaniels, riding on his horse, Nepotism.

I was going to use Josina instead but I'm not sure if I would have to use "horseperson" in that case.

Well. My spell check just accused me of making up the word "horseperson." **** you spell check.

I think in her case, you could probably just use "horseface."

A tier four team that has a right to have a real case of the a$$ is Tenn. Look how they finished up last year vs how they started. Then consider what they changed - QB.

Denver is not a playoff team, so I don't really see what it matters. Denver is a team in year 2 of a complete tear down / rebuild.

I can see why someone would say Tier 4. Same time, I think we'll be a Tier 2 team when it's all said and done.
