My son was the same way at that age. Right when he learned how to talk we taught him how to count to 10, his ABCs, and then I taught him all the football teams. It was pretty easy. I had one of those preseason magazines, that has a profile on each team. So I taught him the AFC West on the first day. Just kept showing him the teams over and over. Then each day I added a new division until he knew them all. People thought the kid was a genius. It was pretty funny.

It is a good brain exercise for small kids. He liked Batman and Superman, so I'd ask him each characters real name. We had a few other things that we did too.

I was able to get my Nephew to do that when he was three. We went through every team and had a different thing he would say or yell. Now he's eight and he reads the paper to check the scores of every team with every sport.
