Go to that link once the PPV starts and try the appropriate link.

Never know for sure if there'll be a good stream available or not, but more often than not there is.

No idea who will win the main event, should be a fascinating watch.

About an hour away!

Kimbo Slice should win by TKO, I also have Koscheck winning and becoming the #1 contender for the welterweight title, and I'm going with Shogun to win the LHW title.

If Paul Daley keeps Kosccheck standing up then he has a good chance to win this fight, he is a better striker with more power. But if it goes to the ground then Koscheck will win, a fairly easily.

I would agree with that. Daley has a lot of power, but if Koscheck gets it to the ground I don't think he will tire out and should control it.

That's the majority of the fights.

I'll be watching boxers Paul "The Punisher" Williams (see my sig) vs. Kermit Cintron on HBO. Will have have FAR more action than the UFC borefest. UFC just markets itself better.

I was just going to say that fight between Cintron and Williams is pretty much a 'have to see' as far as boxing goes these days. I am going to try and watch the end of the jazz/lakers and the boxing and the UFC.....it's gonna be tough, lol

Not wanting to completely derail this thread, but: I just all around disagree with you. If you're really into the striking, you should give K1 in Japan a watch. Quality kick boxing there.
Boxing is a dieing sport IMO, just a bunch of hand picked fights for whoever has the belt. And every weight class in it except heavyweight is irrelevant. I'll agree on Boxing's lack of promotion though, it explains some of the ratings.

For pure stand up strikes and kicks, K1 is probably tops. Every fight is entertaining. MMA is the hardest to train though, imo.

Watched MMA live the other night and they did a study on the science of Machida-Rua. Shogun Rua created 80 g's of velocity in .53 seconds with his kicks...thats just simply unreal! Imagine getting kicked with that force with a half second to react to it.

Machida created 65 g's with his kicks but were .2 seconds faster than Rua's, so little less power but quicker, still just unreal.

The "dying sport" thing is just ignorance. Is it less relevant in the United States than it was in the glory days? Sure. But, even here it still has loyal fanbase. There have been multiple record breaking PPV events in recent years, and Paquiauo drew 51,000 fans to the new Cowboys stadium to watch him fight Clottey (a nobody as far as casual fans are concerned). But, in Latin America and Europe, boxing is bigger than ever. Guys like Ricky Hatton, Juan Manual Marquez, Lucian Bute, Miguel Cotto, and Wladimir Klitchko are national heros in their respective countries. Boxing is doing fine and well. Not nearly as well in the U.S. as in the old days, true, but it is far from dying. Like I said, MMA does a far better job with marketing. It's also not true about the weight categories being irrelevant besides heavyweight. It would help if the heavy division had an American superstar, true, but the popularity of guys like Mayweather, Pacman, Hatton, Kelly Pavlik, etc prove that the lower weight classes are extremely relevant.

BTW, I do enjoy K1 on occasion. Can't say I'm more than a casual fan, but a buddy of mine loves it so I watch with him on occasion. Much prefer that to UFC.

That is not the majority of the fights. However, I will say there has been a lot more lnp here lately with guys just trying to get by and not finish. I think if they had the yellow card system like they did in Pride, it would help out a lot.

Just curious.. How much MMA have you watched? Have you watched other organizations besides the UFC?

All around poor conditioning for Kimbo and weak legs.
But I really wish you had to be throwing blows for a TKO, not the girl slaps Mitrione was throwing at the end. But Kimbo needed to defend himself, and he didn't.

I honestly tried to give UFC a fair shot. I watched two full seasons of Ultimate Fighter (which I understand does not represent the best of MMA fighters), I've watched about 10 Strike Force cards as a Showtime subscriber, have watched at least a dozen UFC PPVs with buddies who are fans, have watched reruns of PPVs on Spike....I just don't see how it's more entertaining than boxing as a pure sport. Yes, MMA does a much better job of the marketing and making it a spectacle, but in the ring I just don't see how anyone can find MMA more entertaining than boxing. Just my humble opinion.

Kimbo Slice showed every bit of 36 years old out there, actually he looked more like 56. He had his chances in round 1 but got gassed and the kicks in round 2 did him in.

Koscheck-Daley was a weird fight, first there was Koscheck playing possum and almost getting a point deducted from Daley by faking an illegal knee, then the postfight with Daley sucker punching Josh as he was walking to the corner. Overall Koscheck controlled the fight and kept it on the ground, next up he gets GSP while Daley gets a suspension.

And Rua came through, TKO of Machida in round 1 to win the light heavyweight belt. His first defense will be against the winner of Rampage/Evans, so should be rampage.

KO I meant, Machida didn't know what country he was in after those shots. It was pretty even until then, Rua was landed more blows but Machida took him down twice and almost hooked a leglock, but then one shot knocked Machida down and the rest is history.

Light Heavyweight division is so competitive, Rua is a great fighter but no more than 2-3 title defenses and someone else will win the belt, just way too many good fighters in this division to keep on winning.

Yeah Kimbo is cut from the UFC roster, but the door is still open if he wants to train hard and learn some ground game and win some fights in other MMA organizations.

Paul Daley on the other hand was cut and is never coming back regardless of how his career goes.

That's cool - to each their own. I personally like MMA because of the different styles of fighting and how each fight on a card can be completely different. I don't mind boxing, but it personally doesn't interest me as much anymore. It's just like with any sport though, depends on how familiar you are with the technical aspect. I think a perfect example is golf - If you have never played, watching it on tv is boring as hell. But if you've played and experienced how difficult the sport is, it becomes much more entertaining watching what those guys can do.

You should check out some of the fights from PRIDE. I know they have "Best of Pride" on HDNet or Spike quite a bit. They had different rules (kicks/stomps/knees to downed opponents) and have a lot of great fights.

And if you've got any good boxing matches (besides the main ones) that may peak my interest, let me know.
