This was the "outside the lines" piece they did on Tebow while he was making his decision to go to Florida.

Just a couple of observations...

Holly crap are his folks relegious. I heard they were missionaries but this was more WAY than I knew. No big deal, but it was a little suprising to see.

This guy has always been the most freakishly competitive athlete I've ever seen... WOW

His delivery? Eh.... I doubt this gets a lot better. Early in this documentary they show him at some high school camps working on his delivery. Looked almost identical to how it looks now (in practice). Then he gets into the game and the wind-up makes it's return. Now, oddly enough, I felt his delivery looked better in HS than it did at Florida.

Spread Option: his HS offense sure looks a lot like the Gaters O'. I sure hope McKidd is planning to incorporate his mobiulity into this offense.

Don't want to give too much away, but the kid played an entire game on a broken leg... Unbelievable display of toughness and leadership for a 17 year old.

It's fairly long, but well worth it.

Yeah, this was really good. Gave me a better perspective on Tebow. I'm at ease with the pick now.

Nice stuff. Interesting how many leg injuries he had in HS.

Here's a thought about his delivery...

Maybe it never fully corrects, and yet he still has a pretty decent pro career?

Looks to me like his arm is only in that downward position for a split second. He's mobile and looks agile in the pocket.

Maybe the guy just has a bit of a funky throwing motion, and the rest of his game makes up for it?

If he's accurate, and makes good decisions... he's certainly got other levels of his game that can elevate him.

I'm just not convinced that this hitch in his throwing motion dooms him to failure. He may FIX the motion, and still fail.

I think this kid's success will boil down to a lot more than his motion.

That video is amazing. The thing that stands out is this kid has not changed one iota since high school. He's saying the same team-first mantra then as he is now. Before the Heisman, before the 2 National Championships, before being a #1 pick.

Bronco fans should be psyched.

A split second? More like a millisecond. Which is enough to throw the timing off w/the pass rush.

Because there are so many things in that first post that make very little sense if you've watched him play? In fact, I'd say the entirety of it is just screaming "I never watch college football", which is fine, just say "I've never really seen this kid play"

I can (and have) watch hundreds of plays from him over, and over, and over via this fantastic new medium called the cyberwebs.

I see (the widely discussed and almost universally accepted) abnormality in his throwing motion.

I also clearly stated that it doesn't particularly bother me, and that I think he still may have a fine pro career, even if that motion never fully corrects.

In other words, I'm not positive that the correction of this motion would be mutually exclusive to his success as a pro. That's a simple and easy to follow opinion.

But, I'm happy that you watch a lot of college footall... NASCAR and whatever else you do with your time... really. Keep us updated.

Are you kidding me? Every sentence in that first post ranges from Captain obvious to downright being a dip****. No **** his other tools have compensated for horrid mechanics... watch any highlight reel of him and it's probably at least 50/50 runs. And this wasn't just a Phillip Rivers-esque "funky throwing motion" as you referred to it. It was such a major issue that had him all ****ed up at the senior bowl looking terrible that it was isolated and worked on EVERY day until he could unveil his new throwing motion at his pro-day.

Then there's "If he's accurate, and makes good decisions..."

Durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. You really felt the need to write that?

And why do you think they're working on his throwing motion?

Here's a shocking hint... it's to make his accuracy NFL caliber you dumb ****.

Here's the great closer you came up with:

"I'm just not convinced that this hitch in his throwing motion dooms him to failure. He may FIX the motion, and still fail.

I think this kid's success will boil down to a lot more than his motion."

No ****?!?!?!?! You mean QBs worth isn't just "who has the best mechanics"?!?!? OMG WHAT A REVELATION!

Rev,

Great work. :)

You have the IQ of a lemming... and that's being generous.

Remember that time you PM'd me about pitching this copy/paste post I made to TV producers and I had to reply and explain to you it's Scooby ****ing Doo because you're that dumb?

My job is so goddamn unbelievable. I'll try to sum it up by first telling you about the folks I work with:

First, there is this supermodel wanna-be chick. Yeah, okay, she is pretty hot, but damn is she completely useless. The girl is constantly fixing her hair or putting on makeup. She is extremely self-centered and has never once considered the needs or wants of anyone but herself. She is as dumb as a box of rocks, and I still find it surprising that she has enough brain power to continue to breath.

The next chick is completely the opposite. She might even be one of the smartest people on the planet. Her career opportunities are endless, and yet she is here with us. She is a zero on a scale of 1 to 10. I'm not sure she even showers, much less shaves her "womanly" parts. I think she might be a lesbian, because every time we drive by the hardware store, she moans like a cat in heat.

But the jewel of the crowd has got to be the ****ing stoner. And this guy is more than just your average pothead. In fact, he is baked before he comes to work, during work, and I'm sure after work. He probably hasn't been sober anytime in the last ten years, and he's only 22. He dresses like a beatnik throwback from the 1960's, and to make things worse, he brings his big ass dog to work. Every damn day I have to look at this huge Great Dane walk around half-stoned from the second-hand smoke. Hell, sometimes I even think it's trying to talk with its constant bellowing. Also, both of them are constantly hungry, requiring multiple stops to McDonalds and Burger King, every single damn day.

Anyway, I drive these bastards around in my van and we solve mysteries and shiit
