Always loved magic tricks....illusion, math, sleight, anything.

Just got into trying to perform it recently...

I am trying to focus mostly on cards, with some coins and other small illusions.


I am not bad and what I can do........

Just curious if any of you guys were into it at all? and if so, where do you get most of your stuff from? I usually go to my local store, but its so damn expensive.........i hate to buy online because you can't see thet item in person forst though its usually much cheaper.

Ellusionist.com is a great site, and have 2 of their gaff decks.

but im always looking for more, so if you know some let me know.

no no, no performances.....none of that kinda crap magic..... im talking about everyday kinda stuff.........card tricks, coin tricks........**** you can do at a bar or with my co-workers.

Yes. I got into this in college as a hobby one summer, and found that it was a great way to get free drinks. I put on an impromptu show on the patio of one of the local pubs one day that will forever live in my memory as one of the funnest days of my life. I had quite a few nice tricks set up, and started to do a few card tricks with my friends. Before I knew it, I had a crowd surrounding my table, and people were sending me drinks left and right. The capper was when I had the prettiest girl in the crowd pick a card, and then I asked her to go into the women's bathroom and lift up the trash can and tell me what she finds. Everyone was blown away by that request... You know "NO WAY! NO ****ING WAY!"

She came out holding that card high and the patio erupted with astonishment. It was so much fun. I loved it. I can't help but smile just thinking about what a great night that was.

To this day, I can't resist a magic shop when I see one. But I haven't done a trick - aside from vanishing a coin for my son and niece, in years.

The one I like to do at bars is called the wristwatch. I wrap my penis around the pritttiest girl in the bars wrist and voila she has a beautiful wrist watch. Be carefull with this trick it can get you in trouble if you don't know what your doing.

Here is a crazy card trick for you.

#1 Put all the card together a-k in suites
#2 make some crazy story up about 13 people playing poker and one guy gets caught cheating.
# 3 pick some one out and have them cut the card 13 times any way they want as long as it is a normal cut
#4 when laying the card out make the cheating guy be the 7th player and lay the card out as follows
1 2 3 4 5 6
-----7----
8 9 10 11 12 13

and then backwards on the way back. k to 1
repeat till all cards are gone.


It will blow your mind.

If you are into Japanese flicks, I would recommend the tv series Trick. There are 3 seasons the only problem is finding good quality streams to watch. I used a couple of the tricks in the show on friends.

Although 23 year old Yamada Naoko (Nakama Yukie) is a "super" magician, she is continously fired and constantly hounded by her landlady for the rent being late. After being fired once again, her boss shows her an ad of a physics professor, a non-believer of all things magical, offering money to anyone who can prove to him that magic is real. Desperately needing the money, Naoko accepts the challenge, which is how she comes to meet Professor Ueda (Abe Hiroshi). Falling prey to her simple magic tricks, Ueda is impressed, and enlists Naoko to help him uncover the tricks behind a local cult. Their hilarious antics, along with those of police officer Yabe, leads them onto further mysteries, all with tricks needing to be solved in sort of an "X-Files" meets "Scooby-Doo"...

That guy is the anti-christ, he freaks me the hell out. We were out walking and saw him levitate in front of some chicks. Dude was in the middle of the street. I don't know how you would fake that.

On the subject of Japanese magic, Cyril is my favorite magician. He was born in the US and I believe he performs almost exclusively in Japan now but he has done magic here in the US and on TV in the past.

He does great street magic and I find him much more enjoyable and charismatic than David Blaine. David Blaine was somewhat enjoyable at first but he is just a freak now.

Even if you don't understand Japanese, you should still be able to enjoy his magic regardless:
