I vote he does some sort of pennance and gets to keep his man card if he mends his ways, my suggestion for pennance would be:

poor bastage...I went through a really similiar thing. And for about 3/4 months mine was revoked or should have been. luckily for me i had no more friends to do it.

Then I totally got it back.
