Here's a good one for all my mentors (tormentors) on the Mane. This weekend I am going to STL with several of my friends and my soon to be son-in-law.

Do you think a trip to the "ballet" is in order. Or is it just not proper?

"In order"? "Proper"? The correct word here is "required".

The "ballet" is an adult entertainment establishment!

Nice! I'm going to one in a month and ..."burlesque" entertainment has been vetoed by the bride to be :( I think maybe I should get my buddy out of it now.

..."burlesque" entertainment has been vetoed by the bride to be...

This always amuses me. Why would any bride to be marry a guy she doesn't trust going to a strip club? They need to stay out of it as it's none of their damn business. The bachelor party is for the friends of the groom, not her. Butt out!!!

Right? She's a vegetarian too. The wedding is NOT going to rock. But I get to wear a tux, so all is not lost.

As long as you're not weirded out by your son in law going to the rippers, game on!

Nothing on Earth is more awkward than having a bachelor party with your soon to be father in law in attendance.......unless of course the soon to be wife, sister in law, or mother in law are "working" at the club that night.

im in st louis, I hear hollywoods is one of the best, i need to get there some time, just been hurting on money so blowing $$ on strippers has been pushed down the list of priorities. I need to get a new job so strippers can be back on the top of my priority list.

When one of my buddies got married, his wife forbade him from going. So, we did it anyway, and her dad, his future father-in-law, went along with us and she never found out. Cool father-in-law, not a cool wife. Big surprise that they are divorced now because she was a beeeyotch.

Ya, if the wife/ fiance doesnt let you, I would still do it. Give them the excuse from The Hangover and say you are going to Napa Valla, and then go to the strip clubs

if you have to lie about going to strip club for a batchelor party, then you probably aren't ready to get married and engaged to the wrong woman

wrong woman yes, but not the guys fault. if the woman cant trust the guy or is too insecure to let him look at other women, she needs to grow up.

Personally, I don't really care if my guy goes to strip clubs or porn or whatever so long as he's honest and occasionally invites me to enjoy his fantasies with him. When the fantasies push away our relationship is when there's a problem. I also make it explicit at the beginning, if he wants to be with someone else be honest, don't lie. I may choose to stay or may not, but I should have a choice too.

As for the above statement,it is his fault if he lies about it. Her insecurity is not an excuse to lie. He should have the courage to tell her what he wants and tell her the truth. if they can't be truthful about this now and survive this argument, they are probably in trouble.

Just something I heard from a friend of a friend...

The Hustler club in St Louis has a really cute girl with a nice Bronco emblem tramp stamp. She was friendly as could be and a dance wasn't even involved.

Or so I hear.

I actually have some friends and colleagues at work who haven't seen this movie yet. Clearly I need both new friends and a different job. With the possible exception of Superbad I can't think of a more must-see "stupid movie" from the last few years.

You know something Miss I? If more women were williing to have your point of view a whole lot more guys wouldn't be cheating or thinking about cheating on their wives. Fewer guys would probably want to go to strip clubs too or would love to be able to go with their wives and not feel judged about it. And yeah the guy owes his part of that bargain as well.

Yes, it is.

As unfulfilling and soul sucking as a trip to the strip club can be, it is a rite of passage for American men. Your journey from confused adolescent to depressed adult is not complete without witnessing the degrading acts people will perform for money in the name of entertainment.

When you go, just remember this...she's really not that into you. She's acting. Good luck.

i'll add to that, dances are not free, and don't sit front and center unless you're willing to d consistently drop ones.

No, dude... I'll be 57 in two weeks, and I've never been to a strip club (read: never wasted so much as a nickle at one).

My advice is find a girl you don't have to PAY to get sexy with ya! Ha!

It's not trust, it's about power. The woman wants to control the groom-to-be by laying down rules that are all about having her authori-tay respected. Insecurity has nothing to do with it. She is just trying to see how your nads fit in her lockbox and whether she can get you to agree to leave them there.

Captain 'Dre
05-02-2010, 02:49 PM
Insecurity has nothing to do with it.

Yes it does! At least sometimes.

There's a difference between "controlling" and "insecure", so unless you're saying that there aren't ANY insecure women out there, yes, insecurity DOES factor in!

It's a chump palace. Overpriced everything and ridiculous rules aplenty.

If you want oil burning skanks, hire out instead. It'll probably be both a cheaper and more satisfying experience on you all.

The only memorable experience I had was being out some cash I could've spent more wisely elsewhere. In the 90's, NY really put down some pretty stupid laws on these places which made it even more of a waste of time to go to them, so I quit.
