View Full Version : I love this McD quote on Tebow....

"I love this game so much,'' McDaniels said. "I would die to have 53 guys here who love it as much as I do. I'm looking to find the right group of guys to accept our one singular goal -- to win. I think Tim fits in with that. There're going to be doubts about him. Great doubts -- and I understand that. Some people don't think he has the natural traits of a great quarterback. Here's what I think: Do Jim Furyk and Tiger Woods swing the club the same way, hit irons the same way? No. But they both win tournaments. There're different ways to throw, different mechanics, and you can still get the job done.''

Forget the game but his tyraid on the sidelines this year after a drive stalled after penalties was when he won me over. He was just trying to win an f'n game. Got so sick of the Shanny evil eye and it was nice to hear someone besides me yellin at the television that afternoon. I woulda high fived him had I been there.

Hmm only problem with they Furyk and Woods analogy is they play solo sports. Last time i checked Tebow has to play with 10 other guys. Oh wait!! He is the TEBOW he needs no other guys!

I don't believe it willl be this year, Chris. I think Orton will start the season, and probably finish it barring injury. Tebow will get a year to learn about the speed of the game, and the playbook and how to get the team out of the huddle. I think he may get only a few plays in. But the stadium will go nuts when he gets to play the fourth quarter of the last exhbition game. By 2012, he should be ready to rumble.....

I've said about Josh from day one... people might not like his methods, but he'd saw off fingers one at a time for a Broncos win. The guy is possessed.

As a fan, I can't help but like that.

obviously you're not a golfer - ha I love dropping in big lebowski quotes.

but seriously, he was comparing Tebow to Furyk not Woods. Google Jim Furyk swing and watch a video, its a retarded swing that somehow works, just like Tebow's throwing motion

The problem is Tiger Woods is about a hundred times better than Jim Furyk.

It's a "metaphor"...it isn't a literal comparison. These "metaphor" things are interesting and allow one to compare something to something else. I learned about them in grade school.

That's not the comparison he's making. He's comparing Jim's swing to Tiger's.

It drives me nuts that people seem to lack a basic understanding of the tenets of discourse anymore.

It makes intelligent conversation difficult at best.

Here's an example.

"It's an apples to oranges argument".
"Tebow isn't an apple".
SIGH!

100 Tebows? Are you trying to destroy the universe(s)? Nothing could contain that much concrete cyanide!

Give me 1/10000th of a Tebow and I'll fix the economy, create world peace, end hunger, and create a pure government.

...but I'd rather all of him focused on playing ball.

Pete Carroll on Tebow and Decker:

Carroll also gushed about a first-round quarterback on whom the Seahawks passed, not once but twice. "I think anybody that got Tim Tebow had a good draft because I think he's going to surprise everybody," Carroll said. "And I think he's going to be a fantastic addition to a team. There's another guy that we would have really liked to have been able to add for the future because of what he brings. He will not let these issues about throwing motions and things be in the way. He will will his way through that if he's anything at all like I know."

The Seahawks coach likewise heaped praise on former Minnesota Golden Gophers receiver Eric Decker. "Very, very good receiver," Carroll said, "and we have a guy [previously] on that [Minnesota] staff, Jedd Fisch, who coached him and we knew all about him and really were hoping to get a chance to get him, too."

I wonder if McDaniels knows that Jedd Fisch is a Shanahan guy, and therefore so is Decker by association. Guess we know who will be starting the year in the dog house.

Furyk has the quirkiest swing I've ever seen. It's amazing that he got as far as he did without some coach trying to take it apart.
