The NFL reports on Monday that Denver Bronco quarterback Tim Tebow had the highest selling rookie jersey at www.nflshop.com this weekend.
Behind Tebow was Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh who was selected No. 2 overall.

Third was the No. 1 overall pick in the draft St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford. Kansas City Chiefs defensive back Eric Berry finished fourth. Berry was the fifth overall pick in last weekend's draft.

The fifth highest rookie jersy was Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant who was selected 24th overall.

Update: Tebow said at his introductory press conference over the weekend that he plans on wearing the same number he wore at Florida, No. 15

No surprise there, expect the gap between Tebow and the rest to widen.

Well, that would certainly be a kick in the nuts to a lot of folks if he didn't. I wonder what nflshop.com's policy on such a situation would be. I assume they'd say tough luck, but with a rookie best seller, maybe enough would complain to get them to exchange them for free or at least at a significantly reduced cost.

It reminds me of the South Park episode where Cartman starts a Christian rock band because they have a huge built in following and would sell a million records no matter what their music sounded like.

This is Faith +15 you're seeing right here. ;D

Yeah, the Christian subculture around the world will love to watch Tebow in the NFL. Can't blame them though. He's an impressive kid on the field and off. He's the role model that Charles Barkley wouldnt be.

In a world where players like Ray Lewis, Ben Roethlisberger, Kobe Bryant, Ron Artest, etc., are idolized, its pretty refreshing to have someone who is so concerned about the legacy that they leave for children.

How much for the "Wings and Halo" version of the jersey?

This is a big deal, it might be part of that "nationalization" effort that the Broncos are always going after (ie, being a team that is popular nationally, not just in the mountain west).
