As soon as the draft is done, teams will start signing undrafted free agents. Post any signings / rumors here....

There is a guy out there from Newberry College, his name escapes me at the moment, but he plays receiver with measureables at 6'2 195lbs and runs the forty in 4.2 I kid you not. He has even been clocked at 4.16, one of the fastest 40 times ever recorded next to Deon Sanders. He could really bring some excitement to the return game.

... and why haven't the Raiders or anyone for that matter drafted him yet. Is he not draft eligible because the Raiders had drafted the fastest person in the draft.

Kelton Tindal is the name btw.

Jackson would be a great pick up at FB. He hits hard when he's blocking, and he can catch out of the backfield. Some off the field issues though.

Did Clifton Geathers get drafted? Might be a good project at DE/5 tech. Also, wouldn't mind that guy Callahan Bright at NT.

Remember Trey Junkin? He built a strong reputation as a long snapper then flushed it down the toilet with a pitiful game in the 2002 NFC Wild Card game. In the post game press conference, he pretty much said he wished he never signed with the Giants, took all the blame for the loss. He was so dejected it looked like he wanted to commit suicide.

Interesting note about Marinelli:

Intangibles: Intelligent player that plays with a bit of a nasty streak. Cleans up piles and won't back down when challenged. Strong, vocal leader. Father worked for Local 88 Tunnels Workers Union for 30 years, and the offensive line took on that nickname for their group before the season because of its blue-collar attitude.

Chris Brown, RB, Oklahoma, 5'11", 210
This soft-spoken back had his role increase from situational back to major contributor during the 2008 season, and he stepped forward with an honorable mention All-Big XII junior year.

Brown managed 1,220 rushing yards on just 214 carries, an average of 5.7 per attempt. His 20 touchdowns were fifth-best in OU's storied history. Those statistics outpaced his totals from his first two seasons: 954 yards, 15 scores. When Demarco Murray could not play against Florida in the BCS title game due to injury, Brown stepped up with 110 yards on 22 carries.

Brown may not have the cache of former Sooner All-American Adrian Peterson -- or even Murray. And Oklahoma's offensive line may go through some growing pains replacing four starters. But when NFL teams are looking for a solid all-around back (he also made 15 catches last season) in the middle rounds of the draft, Brown's name should be high on the list. (NFL Draft Scout)

Alric Arnett, WR, WVA, 6'2", 188

Arnett had a roundabout journey to Morgantown, but he came through the past two seasons for head coach Bill Stewart and quarterbacks Pat White and Jarrett Brown. He attended Butler Community College after a stellar high school football and track career, catching 14 passes for 212 yards and three scores and also sprinting there. The next season he transferred to Scottsdale Community College (8-100-2 in nine games).

He redshirted his first season with the Mountaineers with a thumb injury, but earned the starting job in every game the following season in 2008. Arnett caught 35 balls for 466 yards and six scores as a junior, stepping up with 7-93-2, including the game-winning touchdown in the Meineke Car Care Bowl.

This year Arnett continued that success, bringing in 43 receptions for 586 yards and three touchdowns. His height, silky routes and solid hands at the East-West Shrine Game also gained him fans among scouts, making him a possible late-round pick.

Nice signing. He's a gamer and a good kid.

I like it. Give Lonnie some competition and let the team see that even the "McD boys" aren't afraid to compete for their spots. Sounds like the kid has the goods too though. Not often you see a long snapper considered on draft day.

Proof that no position is safe.

I didn't know we had that many roster spots open.

You're allowed 80 signed players. The draft picks dont count until they sign their contracts.

We currently have 59 contracted players including Ayodele, so even with 9 signed draft picks we'd still need 12 to make up the 80.

I still see us signing as many as 15 UDFA or thereabouts.

Brown. We need RB depth (I don't think we can count on Buckhalter or Arrington staying healthy) and Brown has pretty much always played the rotation / backup role and done well. He has talent. I would not be at all surprised if he is in the RB rotation with Moreno.

NC State halfback Toney Baker has signed a free agent contract with the Denver Broncos. Baker rushed for 2,045 yards during his Wolfpack career, despite missing almost two complete seasons with a knee injury. He played in 36 total games, rushing for 27 touchdowns and gaining another 676 yards and four TDs on receptions.

Baker was granted a sixth-year of eligibility by the NCAA following the 2009 season, but decided to pursue a professional career after graduating in December.

I do like the Brown signing and surprised he wasn't drafted. He has a great shot at making the team. Overbay and Palmer at TE could seriously compete as well. Geer if can make the transition to FB could as well. Marinelli was seen as a late round pick, so it's possible could give Polumbus competition.

I'm surprised nobody picked this guy up:

While he won’t go anywhere near as high as fellow Tennessee State alum DB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, who was drafted 16th overall by the Cardinals in 2008, DB Anthony Levine is steadily working his way onto draft boards.

He helped himself with a good workout at Tennessee State’s pro day, which took place in front of 14 team representatives on March 20.

Levine (5-foot-11 1/8, 193 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.48 and 4.53 seconds, had a 35-inch vertical jump, a 9-foot, 6-inch broad jump, a 4.05-second short shuttle, a 6.75-second three-cone drill and did 20 bench press repetitions at 225 pounds.

He also looked very good in position drills. Expect his name to be called sometime on the third day of the draft, which features rounds 4-7.

None of those guys have much of a future in Denver. LB is such a pivotal piece of the team not only for the defense, and depth, but also for special teams. Pittsburgh drafts about 4 LBs every year because they like "250 pound guys that like to run and hit". We need more those kinds of guys before this defense becomes as good as we want it to be, IMHO.

Yeah I'd like a superstar there as much as you, but I doubt any of the remaining UDFAs are going to fill that bill. Was just pointing out that for training camp purposes, it's not like they're short on players at that position.

Based on what McD has said in interviews, it sounds like he would have liked to acquire another ILB (and a running back for that matter) in the draft, but the chips just doesn't fall that way. I'm glad he stuck to his board rather than reaching for one.

I'd love to hear your logic on DJ Williams not having a future in Denver when even Mike Shanahan committed a $30m plus contract extension to him, knowing full well he was switching to 3-4 the following season.

Nathan Overbay at 6'5" and 270...huge for a TE. Probably not too fast, but sounds like he can catch, and I assume block at that size. 51 receptions and a TD every 3.9 catches last year....sounds promising. Probably just went up and over the DBs in the Mountain West though. Guess he would have been drafted if he was a serious player.

Good camp fodder at least...

He didn't look to blow up alot of guys on 1st contact and seemed to go down way too easy but his hands seemed OK. Looked like a guy who is too slow/big for WR who became a TE.

This is from less than 5 minutes of "splash" video.

I see Sam Paulescu was waived. I wouldn't mind the Broncos bringing him in. I thought he was better than Kern when they battled through training camp and the preseason. I know he's not an undrafted free agent, but I didn't want to start a thread for a punter.

Maybe I've been drinking too much again Rev but I could've sworn I've read pieces that it was Shanahan's intention to move to a 3-4 defense before he was fired.

DJ signed his extension that same season.

Also last offseason when we knew full well we were switching to a 3-4 why were some of DJ's bonuses pushed back if the team had no intention of keeping him long-term as a centre-piece of that 3-4 D???

He also received another $3m roster bonus last month. In a year when dumping contracts has become the norm (cap free) you'd think we'd at least try to trade a player if we did not think he could perform to his contract in this defense, instead of paying him $6m plus if he is not worth that.

My question is just about the bolded statement, and I don't remember anything like that. The closest we ever came to that were some big rumors before 2005, I believe. If you can find something though, I genuinely would love to read it.

Callahan Bright , the Broncos should pick him up and put him on practice squad. The Broncos could use a huge nose tackle to develope behind Williams. He was the #1 rated dt comming out of high school. I also still want Chis Bell. Bell was also a 5 star receiver comming out of high school and has the talent to be as good as Dez Bryant.

Agreed re Callahan Bright. Seems worth a shot. He's not getting any love out there, not even a workout.

I read a report from a NOrleans paper yesterday that Chris Bell had signed with the Saints. He is a stud, but not sure he has the requisite Boy Scout badges to make it on Broncos.

Wonder what all the WR additions mean for someone like Nate Swift from last year's UDFA bounty. By all accounts, he was impressive last year. Looks like the Broncos have a log jam at WR now...Swift, McKinnley, and Lloyd might be competing for one spot. I feel like I'm forgetting some other candidates too...

I saw a stat on NFL Live that showed in 2009 UDFA's in the NFL started more games than 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round draft picks. Only 1st rounders started more games.

I don't know what that says about the state of drafting in the NFL, maybe it's like Gruden said, "Lot of dumbass coaches in the NFL."

Or maybe the coaches are smart, but the GM's are dumbass?

Here's the link again to the UDFA's:

Sounds like a question of numbers. Most teams have 20 UDFA each year v. 3 guys drafted rounds 2-4. Odds of making it individually still much higher if you're drafted.

Would also be interesting to see the longevity of those same picks 3-5 years out. Lots of drafted players (like linemen) get drafted with the thought they will be groomed 1-2 years behind an existing starter, whereas an UDFA might be brought in to fill an immediate, short-term need. High ceiling guys gets drafted. Low ceiling but potentially competent guys end up UDFA.
