That's because NFL.com ****ed up and said that we swapped 4th rounders in the Tebow trade when in fact we just gave up our 4th. They seem to have finally fixed it, but it was still wrong last night during the draft.

Good picks by the Raiders in Campbell and Ford, unfortunately.

I'm warming up to the Tebow pick, but read today the Broncos had Colt McCoy in their top 3. What if after trading down in the first round we keep all the picks and take Colt in the 3rd round? Or at least keep the picks and take Tebow if he's still there with their first 2nd rounder, or take Colt if he wasn't?

Best DL left is Cam Thomas... massive bodied DT that would be a good 2-3 year succession plan for Jamaal Williams. He is 330+.

At TE Dorin Dickerson is exactly what you described for a TE. A little on the small side, but similar size to a guy like Shannon Sharpe. He ran a 4.4 at the combine and has good experience playing at Pitt.

Official Bio

Strengths:
Terrific natural athleticism --- Ideal height and bulk --- Excellent speed with a burst to close and recover --- Quick and agile with nice change of direction --- Good leaping ability --- Soft hands and outstanding ball skills --- Superb instincts and awareness --- Smooth with fluid hips to transition --- Excels in both man and zone coverage --- Physical at the line --- Will tackle and support the run --- Elusive with great vision --- Is very confident with a short memory --- Also a prolific kick/punt returner.

Weaknesses:
Has some character issues --- Can be too aggressive at times and will gamble --- Footwork leaves something to be desired --- Tends to get tall in his backpedal --- Is not a real reliable tackler --- Takes some bad angles --- Short arms and small hands --- Durability might be a concern.

Notes:
Was a three-year starter for the Cowboys --- Named 1st Team All-Big 12 in 2009 --- Averaged 24.0 yards with 4 touchdowns (the Big 12 record) on 117 kick returns and also averaged 11.6 yards with 2 touchdowns on 60 punt returns during his college career --- Missed two games with an injury as a freshman and also dealt with injuries as a senior --- Already has three children --- Arrested in the Fall of '09 on charges of driving with a suspended license --- Was suspended for the Cowboy's Cotton Bowl appearance as a senior after missing a curfew, which ended his college career --- Supremely talented and possesses first round physical tools but isn't technically sound and intangibles are shaky --- Must keep his head on straight and get coached up a bit but has the ability to be a starter as well as a great return man in the NFL.

Mike Mayock, NFL Network
137 -- Broncos -- CB Perrish Cox

His stock has been falling since he was suspended for the Cotton Bowl. He has first-round talent, and I gave him a third-round grade due to his off-field issues. Josh McDaniels feels like this is the time to take a chance on a very talented kid. He's much better in press coverage than he is in off-man. He brings special teams value to any team.

I really like D. Thomas, he is "arguable" the best WR in the entire draft. He's bigger and faster than Bryant and obviously, a good kid.

The "character concerns" with Cox is that he missed curfew twice. in a week. Its less of an infraction than what Dez Bryant did and McDaniels said he felt ok with Bryant's character.

Its not like we just drafted LeGarrette Blount. We took a talented guy who made a couple trivial mistakes in a short span of time, while under a head coach already poised to drop the discipline hammer after what Dez Bryant did.

His mother can't come to his games because she is, in the words of Perrish Cox, "...at home taking care of my three kids." He got busted for curfew on the night before the biggest game of his college career, the Cotton Bowl, and was arrested for speeding on a suspended license.

This is pretty much a repudiation of the policy that McDaniels said he was going to implement because he really wants a kick returner. I'm not that bothered by it, being a cynical person anyways, but it smells like bull****, and so I say it smells like bull****. Why candy coat it?

NFL.com analysis of Cox pick.

Pick Analysis: The Broncos take a chance on a talented cover man who fell down draft boards due to character concerns. In spite of his off-field woes, Perrish Cox has good skills and is a top-flight corner with the potential to emerge as a starter. Additionally, he is a dynamic returner with big-play skills in the open field. He could be a huge draft day sleeper for the Broncos.

As the resident ND homer I'll chime in with the fact that Olsen has experience in basically every role you can ask a OL to be in, with ample starting time at both guard and center.

He'll also have some familiarity with our offense out of the gate coming from Weis' system.

Perfect guy to draft as a backup OG/OC behind Beadles, Walton, and Kuper. He will learn the system easily with minimal practice reps because of system familiarity and so we can focus more of our practice reps on Beadles and Walton who need to learn the system.

Broncos take Eric Olsen, C out of ND

That's a BPA pick.

Doubt it, the OG's are now Kuper, Olsen, Beadles and Hochstein

We do need 2 OC so a good pick IMO

As for DL we have plenty of depth

McBean. Bannan, Green, Thomas, Smith

Williams, Fields, Baker

Holliday may come back, we may re-sign Kenny P

I reckon we'll add a couple of DL in UDFA as well.

Olsen is a guy that they can work with and develop... almost certain he'll end up on the PS for a year or two. Could also play guard. Big guy that is extremely intelligent and is pretty familiar with the play calls that McD uses. Not a bad pick, but not a guy that is going to play this year either. I'm alright with it.

Should get a good crop of UDFAs. DL, DL, LB, LB, RB, and WR. Hopefully we can get Dwyer or Blount, Johnson or Chaney, and Briscoe.
