Vladimir Ducasse in round 2, Matt Tenant in round 3, and Brandon Spikes in round 4.

Would be ok with Cam Thomas too.

5,6,7 should be OL depth and Punter.

its only realistic if we somehow get a fourth rounder, but the good news is we have two third round picks

Well following the trend that Denver's early picks are all players we have met with and worked out, I have a feeling that we will try for the top center on the board and I wouldn't rule out a corner. Here is the prospect workout list:

OFFENSIVE LINE:
Guard
Vladimir Ducasse (OT/G) - UMass

Center
Matt Tennant - Boston College
JD Walton - Baylor
Joe Hawley (C/G) - UNLV
Maurkice Pouncey - Florida

Tackle
Jared Veldheer - Hillsdale
Zane Beadles - Utah

WR:
Marty Gilyard - Cincinnati
Dexter McCluster - Mississippi
Arrelious Benn - Illinois
Jordan Shipley - Texas
Jacoby Ford - Clemson
Damian Williams - USC
Dez Bryant - Oklahoma State
Armanti Edwards (WR/KR) - Appalachian State
Eric Decker - Minnesota

RB:
Toby Gerhart - Stanford
Montario Hardesty - Tennessee
CJ Spiller - Clemson

QB:
Tony Pike - Cincinnati

Wild Cross QB:
Tim Tebow - Florida

DEFENSIVE LINE:
Nose
Terrance Cody - Alabama
Torell Troup - Central Florida
Dan Williams - Tennessee

End
Jared Odrick - Penn State U
CJ Wilson - East Carolina
Tyson Alualu - California
Al Woods - LSU

LB:
Koa Misi (DE/OLB) - Utah
Sean Weatherspoon - Missouri
Brandon Graham - Michigan
Rolando McClain - Alabama

CORNER:
Alterraun Verner - UCLA
Kareem Jackson - Alabama
AJ Jefferson - Fresno St
CJ Lovett - Fort Hays State
Dominique Franks - Oklahoma

There was mention of interest in Asamoah.

Old Dude
04-23-2010, 07:51 AM
I think it's gotta be Ducasse or Asamoah in the 2d. They might be able to trade down four or five spots and still pick up Asamoah.

3rd round has to address the Center spot with Tennant, Walton, Hawley, Olsen or Larsen. My guess is that it will be Tennant. I think Denver would be tempted to drop a few spots to pick up Walton, but the Pats are also supposedly interested in him and they have enough ammo to jump anyone at this point.

That would leave 1 pick in the 3rd, which would probably go to the defense, though they sure have worked out a lot of WRs, so I wouldn't be shocked to see a double dip, especially if Decker or McCluster was still hanging around.

You are thinking too need based, no need to get players who can contribute right away.

I am thinking a blocking TE to replace Graham in a year or two, slot WR to replace Kenny Mckinley when he retires or backup QB who can be groomed into an offensive coordinator like Kubiak.

Why? You doing the picking for the Broncos?

Why don't you sit back, relax and watch? I am sure the FO knows a lot about football and drafting and things and stuff......

If Nate Allen is hanging around when we pick maybe we go with him...

OL , MLB, then anyone on offense with playmaking ability I would be fine with.

I believe that Josh will put the Miami 2nd rounder from 2011 on the table as well. Since he's thrown the dice on Tebow and made the investment in DT, it only makes sense that he will now stock the line. Asamoah would be great. I like Eric Olsen later on, and McD does have the Notre Dame connection. There could be more surprises.

Definitley a center. Matt Tennant from BC or Eric Olsen from ND.
Is Carlos Dunlap DE still available?
I think the 2nd and 3rd rounds still have good players to be had.

I have a feeling that Denver packages '11 picks to NE for another 2nd today.

Vlad and Toby in 2nd, Misi and Walton in 3rd. Would like Shipley or Decker as well.

Everything I've read says that Olsen is a project. I wouldn't be upset if we drafted him in the 4th or later though.

I'd like to come away with JD Walton in the 3rd. He is going to be a player. Very smart, biggest weakness is that he is OVERLY AGGRESSIVE ;D, and has the size that McD covets along the DL. Actually a bit more stout than Pouncey, but not as tall.

I like trading down to latter part of second round and getting another 3 and 7 round pick. Some team will want to move up for Benn or Tate. The Broncos then could target defensive or offensive lineman or linebacker. Joseph, Walton , Jerry , Asamoah ,Houston ,Spikes or Butler.

To tell the truth, I'm really not sure that Josh doesn't feel set with Seth Olsen, from the way he's talked about him. I believe McD still has some tricks up his sleeve and will pull something early tonight. Maybe he tries to jump for Kindle who is the perfect Pats' scheme OLB (although with some off field issues). I wouldn't put Mount Cody off the table either. Golden Tate is still there. For all I know, Josh might be trying to work a trade with somebody to move Orton right now. That seems to be the way he rolls. Dude is a riverboat gambler. :~ohyah!:

I don't think we necessarily take a guard. We obviously need a center. But don't forget McD took Seth Olsen in the 4th last year, so he may like him for the LG spot.

Our priority is going to be OL. WE NEED A CENTER AND LG. We're fine everywhere else until next years draft when we can address those spots.

I could see us sending our Brandon Marshall pick or our own 2nd rounder next year to a team + a 3rd this year to get another pick in the 2nd round, or even a 3rd and a 5th or something. Who knows. We did it with Alphonso, we can do it again.

Focus on the lines today please.

A big factor in what direction we go in today is Seth Olsen. Do we see him as a C or G? Do the staff think he is good enough? If we think he can start at one of the spots, that would be a huge boost to our options today.

I guess we end up with one player from each of these two groups.

Cam Thomas, Terrence Cody and Linval Joseph.

J.D Walton, Matt Tennent, Jon Asamoah, John Jerry.

That would make me very, very happy with this draft.
