No I did not see him... I work swing shift so I did not see any of the draft.

He looked like he wanted to punch a hole through Josh's chest, grab the beer on the table, pull it through, down it, and then burp in his face as he collapsed in front of him.

Tom is old school. A "rah rah" kid just out of college isn't going to impress him immediately.

He will eventually come around to liking him though.

maybe he finally realized he's been sitting next to Chris Berman for twenty years. That'd get to anyone.

Honestly, he looked like he had a few prior to the draft. I know he probably didn't, but something was definitely off. Maybe he was just frustrated. FWIW, if I had to sit up there with Steve Young, I'd be frustrated, too.

Between Gruden, Kiper, and Young it was tough for him to get a word in... Obviously Berman is the "color man" so he gets most of the intros, exits, and segways. But usually TJ gets a fair share in the analysis and reaction to the picks. Kiper usually breaks down the technical rating and which teams took good value. Young can add his bit about QBs and TJ is the defense guy. Gruden was all over the place with his comments and didn't seem to take his term, def a very outspoken dude.

Young was trying to dominate the discussions and cut off Jackson and Bermen mid sentence a few times.

Interesting.. I had the TV on in the other room - so I heard the audio, but didn't see their faces, and Tommy "sounded" very positive and upbeat about the pick.

I think as a former bronco he expected the other guys to let him say more about the Tebow pick, but Young was hogging everything and talking over him.

Right after tebow was picked, and I'm not trying to joke or be funny here, my buddy and I thought he was having a heart attack. His head started moving from side to side, and he was holding his left arm kinda weird. Honestly thought he was going to keel over. Weird.

Pretty sure it was young. That guy came off like a pompous ass yesterday. Even Gruden looked like he was pretty fed up with him

Three things I noticed: Tom wasn't happy with the Thomas pick (why not just keep Marshall?), he didn't like the Tebow pick (I don't know why he's so anti-Tebow, I think he's just not so thrilled with McD) and his microphone was not working.

The microphone thing is what I think he was really frustrated about. He kept adjusting it and looking around like wtf?

But I think it was that combo of things that made him look so frustrated.

ant1999e

I think it was the picks that had him upset. He did say that the Broncos are his team and something to the fact that he didn't understand the picks.

One segment he looked like he wanted to just push Young off his chair/ high horse.

Young was blabbing saying why did they get rid of Marshall just to pick another receiver, I dont get it...paraphrasing there, but it looked like he was running his mouth about Marshall. TJ couldnt get a word in and was getting frustrated. At one time TJ got ticked and tried talking over him , but stoopid Young kept flapping his big mouth.

Agree. ESPN coverage looked like it was the rookie and the NFL network was the veteran.

It was sad seeing Boomer and TJ looking old and over the hill, being stepped on by Young and Gruden. I like Gruden, don't get me wrong, but damn he and Young dominated the talk.

Steve Young was a babble'n idiot last night. Trash'n McDaniels for Cutler/Marshall and just talking outta his butt on picks.

TJ looked drunked, confused and lost at times. Boomer looked like he was there to collect his new paycheck and that was it.

I hope tonight goes better for ESPN.

He was talking over a lot of guys at the end. I wonder if he was pissed about Young. It seemed that Young was in the center of the group, Berman was on the end and young was stepping in and not letting others talk.

I think it was more about problems with the panel than the selections.

Yeah, Boomer was shouting, "Tebow's on the phone! And Baltimore is on the clock! Baltimore is on the clock! Oh, wait, Denver is up".

Yeah, Young was babbling, he does have a tendency to do that. Loudly babbling.
