Report: Eagles want Dolphins' 12th pick

By Tim Graham

We already have the first AFC East draft-day trade rumor.

ESPN's Sal Paolantonio, stationed in Philadelphia, reports the Eagles are talking to the Miami Dolphins about trading into their 12th slot.

Paolantonio adds the Eagles want to move up to grab a defensive player and speculates that prospect might be Texas safety Earl Thomas.

Meanwhile, I just arrived in the Buffalo Bills' media center, where I will be reporting throughout the draft. The Bills currently own the AFC East's top draft choice at No. 9.

I was thinking it would be nice for us to trade w/ Philly. Move down to 24 in the first and pick up that 5 in then second.

I don't know DB4L, maybe we do have a guy we want at 11. Or maybe Philly doesn't want to give up #5 in the second? I was thinking the same thing. Why not 11?

Dallas really wants Earl Thomas from what I have heard. I think there is going to be a bidding war for 12, 11, and 10. Maybe we can walk out of this with a guy like Marcus Spears as well as draft picks.

IF the Iggles traded up to 10-12 there is no way it's for 24 & 37.....Not in this draft.

Throw the chart out the window.....24 & 55 is fair value this year.

There are rumors that the giants want McClain and have talked to us about the #11...

I could see them making another move up into the top 5 after getting 10-12.

Make the first jump with 24 and 55.

Second jump could cost 37 and 10-12.

Once the Jags take Tebow at 10, the **** is going to hit the fan. ;D

Maybe. I was eyeballing that 5 though, heh. Already had it in my pocket even.

I think this is a done deal. McD is not willing to move down to #24. Trade with Giants and take Pouncey or Graham.

The Cowboys are dangling Spears, Choice and Barber instead of losing picks.

Really? I know it's deep but I was thinking that's what it would be for. #55 would be all right too though. LOTS of decent second round talent.

Why would Miami let the Iggles take Earl Thomas? That's one of their biggest needs. If somebody wants Thomas, they better jump Miami.

Top 5. I doubt he gets past Seattle.

It would be sweet if we could get the Giants, Cowboys, and Eagles into a bidding war for the 11th pick. :~ohyah!:

Yeah, I'm starting to think we prefer a more moderate trade down. If they have guys like Graham and Pouncey targeted, they probably would be gone by #24.

I've read a couple of scouts who think Thomas is the best player in the draft.

I'm totally sold on Thomas/Bryant/Williams at this point.

Eagles could be floating that out there to try to low ball us.

I wonder if NE would be interested in a deal.

They're sitting on 22, 44, 47, and 53.

Then the Broncos should start floating out the idea of taking Thomas. :wiggle:

I hope so... I really don't want us to select McClain. The Broncos may be able to "squeeze" the Giants a little bit. Tell them we're going to select McClain ourselves unless they're willing to part with their 2nd... If they really want McClain that bad then they'll have a tough decision to make!

I've thought the Pats would be a good trade partner. I imagine we could get 47 or 53 easily enough. Problem is, who would they covet at 11 that would prompt them to trade up? Dez Bryant?

I still think that #18 is a likely spot.

Bryant would fill a need.

Welker was hurt in week 17, so you know he full speed for awhile.

They could also be in the market for Spiller...

I agree, we might be able to squeeze a 3rd and a 5th or 6th, but 2nd in pushing it
