The Broncos' selection at No. 11 overall is reportedly "coming down to" Brandon Graham of Michigan and Maurkice Pouncey of Florida.

The Broncos' preference is to trade down, but that's the case for just about every team drafting in the top 15 or so. Pouncey, a serious late riser, now seems to be a lock for the top 20. Graham has generated almost no draft-day buzz. A slide into the 20s isn't out of the question for him if Denver passes.

I'll flip if we draft Pouncey at 11. He should be available lower which means we can get some more picks and pay him less.

If we really do want Graham, does that mean
a) Ayers is moving to DE?
b) We're going to deal Doom or not give him a new contract?
c) We just love Graham so much that we can't pass him up?
d) other

I'm pretty sure they will trade back if they can.

Impact player and our team still needs to upgrade it's pass rush....not to mention Brandon Graham is solid against the run.

I'd rather see them not be cute to gain a pick and lose the guy they really want. If they have no one of value at 11 and like alot of talent in the second lets trade down.

It could also mean our team has a philosophy of getting as many of those type of players as possible. High motor, impact guys that you can be creative defensively with.

It takes two to tango. But I agree that Graham and Pouncey are the guys we want.

I think it's more likely that Graham would play inside. He played Mike in High school.

You guys forget "We are not trading Jay Cutler"

"Brandon and I have a great relationship."

The only thing that is for sure is that nothing's for sure...

It will be an interesting night....

So did Ayers.

Graham would be a better OLB than Ayers imo.

The Doom/Graham combo looks like it would be like what Indy has except in a 3-4. Would no doubt force Ayers inside unless we want to give up on playing him.

No! Take those two at 11! If we could get both with the 11th pick, it would be pretty sweet.

When do we start to see people trading their spots in the draft? I thought for sure we would've heard of at least one or two teams trading down/up today.

I would expect us to trade down and then take one of those guys if we can. Maybe Ayers would move inside, I hadn't considered that.

I think teams agree to trades beforehand in the case the player they want is where another team is picking. And if they are there, then they do the trade during the draft.

When their pick is up, most of the time. No team is going to want to tip another off about a trade up until the final moment.

I think they use Doom in a package to move back into the first round and if not he's as good as gone next year

Where do people get this stuff?

Let's draft pass rushing impact players so we can trade the ones we already have?

Pouncey would be an excellent pick at 11, but getting with a lower pick would be ideal. I'd prefer him over Graham...Fills a glaring need and he would be a plug and play center for years to come.

There isn't many 3-4 teams that we would be able to deal with that I think would really want him towards the end of the second. You got Ravens at 25, Cards at 26, Boys at 27, and Jets at 29. I don't see any of those teams really wanting to trade for Doom.

If this is true the trade that makes the most sense is denver and the giants. This would be good as it ensures at least one of them will still be there

No one wants to tip their hand and let someone have time to get in front of them. Better to wait until the last moment and take people by surprise and give any competition no time to maneuver a deal.

Ultimately, I think the easiest value agreement will become between the Broncos and Giants. The Giants will send their #76 (third rounder) along with #15 to the Broncos for #11. The Giants will take McClain, Denver will end up going for Pouncey or Graham. My guess as of right now.

Bronco Yoda

Requiem

It just seems the most realistic. I'm sure the Broncos would be fine with a larger move down, but how many of the guys they really want would be there at #24 or in the later first where the others teams rumored in wanting to move up would be picking? Doesn't make sense for the Broncos to move down that far. If they do, I do not think Pouncey, Graham or Weatherspoon are their -- especially not at #24 or later.

I agree. But it's not all that easy to get someone to trade up for so few spots unless all the stars are aligned.
