View Full Version : For those asking about donating to the site

Hey all... I didn't expect it, but I've gotten a few PMs about how to donate to the site. Apparently there are a lot of people pleased with the new upgrade... :rainbow:

I certainly don't expect anything, but am happy to receive when I do. It goes a long ways toward offsetting costs (ie. a new liscence for the board software, server costs, domain costs, etc.). For those who are wondering what is a proper amount, don't worry about it... I've gotten anywhere from $2.50 on up. Just ask yourself how much you feel the site has been worth to you (perhaps the cost of a movie rental or two), and what you can reasonably part with...

And again, I don't expect a dime. I do this out of love for the Broncos and its fans, and with hopes that I can someday do something really special with the site when the time is right.

It's important to note that these are "gift donations" for tax purposes... (I can accept any gift under $10,000 without tax complications. Anything over that, and I have to report it. Of course, that's academic. A fiver is a lot of help if you ask me!).

Thanks for the support!

Hey, Taco, if sending you more than $10,000 is going to be a hassle, maybe I should just forget the whole thing.

Will do... But it'll have to wait a bit... I'm behind at work right now, and will be taking a business trip over the next couple of days, so I won't even be able to think about it...

Heh... Portland has more stripclubs per capita than anywhere in the States...

Think about that... More brew-pubs where they brew their own specialty beers, and more strip clubs per capita than anywhere in the nation...

Nnyah! !Booya! Nnyah! !Booya!

Not that I could afford it but hey maybe if I fake winning the lottery and then claim I lost the winning ticket and then sue the person who really wins it... ah nevermind

I refuse to accept contributions to my personal bank account regarding my infinite wisdom. The expedition of time and energy to send back the millions of dollars and respond to my worship makes this unfortunate, but essential.

Mr. Shanahan has allready begun bowing to specific wishes, including but not exclusive of the executive washroom (because he kinda smells bad and I like to just defecate wherever it seems nice and clean). No graven images will be allowed but legal tender will be accepted. Basically, this means you can not send in slaughtered snakeskins of my relatives as some sort of sick bounty.

Proceeds originally intended to worship me should be forwarded to www.orangemane.com

Remarkably, I seem to pass Nutria Pelts thru my system virtually intact.

I am not exactly sure about the commodity market regarding semi-digested Nutria Pelts, but I can check on bulk units.

Annotation: I am now forced to feed on MuskRat which may have a higher value.

Whoa .... backup the lapdance truck, my friend. There's a few things great about living in the city of Dallas. I'll put Dallas up against Portland any day of the week. I'm willing to bet that not only are there more and better clubs, but the girls are su-perb! Granted ... haven't been in while, a wife and kids will do that ... :-/

Rock Chalk

well, being the strip club connosssieur (if that is misspelled, so what) that I am I can tell you I have been to most of the ones in the major cities in Texas and while Dallas has some fine clubs, all clubs in Texas pale in comparison to Tiffany's in San Antonio. Superb.

Heartbreakers and The Ritz in Houston are very nice as well.

Im with MileHighMania, Id stack Texas joints up against any place save Miami in this fine country of ours.

BTW, the maximum gift without gift tax implications is now $11,000. They made an inflation adjustment to the 10k limit two years ago. Not that we needed to worry about that. ;D

Hey Taco these guys keep sending me emails to advertise on my little board...http://www.mitchellandness.com/

They said they would pay 10% commission for every jersey sold. An authentic MN jersey is $300 bucks.

That would be $30 to the mane for every lead that came from here that resulted in a sale.

Just thought I would throw that out. I have the reps contact # if you are interested. I don't think the members here wouldn mind seeing an MN link around. Maybe they would. I can tell you this they are great jerseys. Mine had gone thru hell and back and is still intact aside from the BBQ burns that are my fault. Mine has been thru the wash atleast 50 times and is still solid.

Can we write these donations off on our taxes?

Afraid not. They go to underwriting the costs that I incur in licence fees for board software, chat software, podcast software, and server and support fees that are incurred. The IRS doesn't consider this a writeoff.

Not sure why but about every 20th post I make gets a message duplicate posts are not allowed..

I also get another message of server timing out..

I know it is not my DSL as I get it from every other sources I use including those from Germany..

I never get it on any of the other sites I use..

Has the server been upgraded in awhile as this has been going on for a long time and now that we are in season it is worse..

Anyone else having these issues..

I'd be happy to donate if the connection got better..

I get this on occassion as well. I've been trying to diagnose it, but when I get my support on the line, they are unable to duplicate it. I have some leads on what it may be, but it competes in priority with my testing of vBulletin 5, which I'm considering upgrading to for next season.
