LenDale White is available

L. White.jpgLenDale White signed his restricted free agent tender Thursday with the Titans, but there's at least some doubt whether he'll spend 2010 in Tennessee.

Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean writes that the Titans would listen to offers if anyone came calling on White during the draft. White has value. He's been a better pro than people think, but it's hard to imagine anyone giving up more than a late-round pick for him because his contract is up.

The Titans are well stocked at running back with Javon Ringer in place as a long-term backup for Chris Johnson.

I'd take White for Scheffler.

Moreno to me is still a shifty runner that can take some hits. There's a reason were looking at Toby Gerhardt.

He's terrible.

Please elaborate I hardly watch Tennessee.

I doubt White would accept being a short yardage guy only, isn't that why he wants out of Tennessee in the first place?

Gerhardt looks like a freak. Interesting option.

Isn't there any middle round boom/bust RB picks out there we could look into?

I just hate to see us use up one of our first 3 picks on anything but OL/DL/LB.

Instead of 3 yards and a cloud of dust , it would be more like 1 yard and a could of twinkie dust with Lendale...

What makes anyone think McD has an interest in running people that aren't Moreno or Buck? No one else got carries last year. We have needs--you think we should be throwing picks and cash at something we don't plan on using?

Shanny will sign him. Hide and watch.

Montario Hardesty is a brutal inside runner - could also be there in the third and we had him in for a visit as well.

That would be our 4th pick. It think we have to consider it, at that point.

The modern NFL is a 2-back NFL. I'd love to mix a speedster in with Moreno's more plodding style.

Buck can't stay healthy but is a great change of pace back. Moreno wore down last year. I think we take a bruising RB if we're in the right position.

My coworker seems to think the Pats want Gerhardt with their second 2nd. Not sure where he got that info from.

I think he has slimmed down but there is reason why White got 2000 yds last year.

Broncos should stick to puttng young guns on the roster in our search for superstars. Vets like White help you more if you are more ready to compete or have a big vet presence on the team.

Better to keep letting a lot of young players make the roster in hopes of developing a new Marshall etc etc.

Moreno has to step up into the 1500 yrds area, 2000 yrds combined all purpose yrds, 10-15 tds area for Broncos offense to be good. Problems inside on oline, problems at WR.

To me it seems like the Broncos are better off either drafting a talented, 2nd round ST Specialist-RB that can do the KR/PR thing or finding a UDFA or 2 to round out the stable...no more vets.

Lendale White is 25 guys.

Obviously no one around here thinks he'd break off 2k in our system. Or is that just a given these days?

Lendale White is 25 guys.

With 24 career rushing TDs. I guess we are too stacked with people that score those to even consider someone like him.

Damn right we should jump on this guy...if we could get him for a 5th...you betcha...hell I would give a 4th for this guy...great on short yardage and goal line...and like it was posted above, this guy is only 25 and that means a lot of tread left

Problems inside on oline, problems at WR.

both will be solved by the end of 2nd round

Dammit, I played against this guy in HS when I was at Dakota and he was at Chatfield.

He's kind of an asshole.

I notched a tackle on Lendale (after he dragged me 3 yards). Crowning moment of my HS football career.

Brocons'll just give 'em the 5th they don't have and see if the Titans notice ;)

But seriously, I don't object to him based on age/wear&tear; I just don't think he fits what Denver does very well. He's not smart. He probably is physical and somewhat competitive.

IMO, Moreno does what White does well enough that it would be redundant in terms of skillset. Would rather add an element not already on the roster, which is why I suggested a KR/PR type.

If it's just about getting a stronger back that can carry sometimes and play ST, why not just go to the UDFA pile?

Dont the Titans already have a couple of productive tight ends. It wont happen.

co-sign. The idea of taking a running back with one of our first three picks doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I'd rather see us use lower priority resources to bring in a bruiser (maybe Lendale White, though I'm not as big a fan of him now as I was when he was coming out of college).

LOL! My HS football team got smoked by a young rising star named Jake Plummer when I was in HS. He was the pride of the state back then.

this guy is proven...a 5th for a guy that gets into the endzone and is only 25 is less of a risk than an unproven guy that you put in key situations to get tough yards...and we will have a pick in the 5th with a few moves during draft day
