10 per year. 5 year 50 mil, the extension is an add on to the 1 year 2.5 mil tender he signed

it was an extension, marshall is also playing 1 year 2.5 mil, so it works to 5 years 50 million

Marshall signed his one-year, $2.5 million tender with Denver yesterday, so it's five years in Miami for total of $50 million. Wow.

edit: beat me to it gobroncos

Not a bad deal for Marshall campared to this ..........

The base salary was $1.3 million, unchanged from a year ago, and he did not receive a bonus. He did get an incentive payment of $4.3 million and received other income of $422,680, which included personal use of the corporate jet that was valued at $138,713. That was more than double the value of any other top guy who also had personal use of the company aircraft. His package also included $308,390 that accounted for above-market returns on deferred compensation. Yep, that's the CEO of Wal-Mart.

Still, there's no state taxes in FL. That's about another $5 mill right there over the life of the contract. Brandon Marshall is a happy man today.

How long can that CEO continue to function at that position?

Will he booted out of his industry by age 36?

Is he at risk for 21 weeks (minimum) of having a traumatic injury that disables him from continuing in his capacity as an employee?

you guys really continuing on with this "traumatic injury" thing?

very, very few players have EVER been so disabled they cannot return to football. if one gets injured and never returns, a lot of the time they werent good enough to stay in the league anyway. but keep reaching

You say this like it is unique to the Sports industry. There are Film Directors up on statutory rape charges that get huge paydays for their next movie. Software engineers who are among the worst human being alive who cash in because they can code like no other. This has long been a society that values raw ability over moral fiber.

While missing his play I reluctantly have to agree with the trade. Why pay this money for a "10" when you can get 3 "8"s for the same price. Also, the risk miami is taking is huge if the leopard does not change his spots.

Thanks BMarsh, it was great watching you in orange.

agreed - hopefully he's grown up enough to resist the urge to get himself in trouble; but I doubt it. Florida is where he learned how to be an idiot

If Marshall can catch 100 balls from Orton ... I'm sure his production won't drop too dramatically

I hate that we traded Marshall to the Dullphins... now here in town he's gonna be the new Messiah!! I hope he doesn't pan out as good as his contract suggest he will be. I want him to be just ok for the Dullphins but not great or the best WR in the league.

Any receiver who receives over 150+ targets for three consecutive years should be able to catch 100 balls. I think we will be fine in the production department.

$24M signing bonus is going to buy his new wife at least a 3 month reprieve from being smacked around.

Good times.

That contract had to be out of the question here. There is no way he was going to get paid (or deserved to get paid) like the best receiver in the game, especially with that much of it guaranteed.

I'm very suprised that anyone was willing to pony up that kind of guaranteed money to a player with his problems, in an area that he has a long history of trouble and in the year before there might be a lockout. Seems like a terrible decision to me.

Nope...No reports that the Broncos have asked Doom to sign his tender.

If they do the melt down on here will be Terrible...flames come out of keyboards all across the land!
