Unless there are any significant developments with our roster or these prospects this should be my final mock. No trades, all of our RFAs are on the team. Picks are made in reference to the latest walterfootball 5 round mock, in terms of players available at each pick. The theme is improving in the trenches, our biggest need:

1- Dan Williams NT Tennessee

I still like McClain and think he'd have a more immediate impact, but our d line needs to get younger. Having someone waiting in the wings learning from Jamal would be wise. Williams could rotate in, keeping the vets fresh as a rookie and develop into the starter.

2- Vladimir Ducasse G/T UMass

Moving to a power blocking scheme full time, we need size on the interior. Ducasse has the flexibility to play inside or RT should Harris get injured. Could start at LG right away

3- J.D. Walton C Baylor

Probably our biggest need position right now, Walton is a tough, physical presence that would also be counted on to start right away. Most scouts rank him no.2 in the class, and he'd fit in well.

4- Brandon Spikes ILB Florida

Spikes falls due to lacks in speed and production. A 2 down backer. However, he could be a steal in the 4th round. With Davis gone, this is a depth pick that could turn into a starter next to D.J.

6- Matt Dodge P East Carolina

Our punting game was terrible. Need an upgrade from Berger. If Dodge is gone we could look at Trindon Holliday, Brandon Banks, or some other player who can spark our return game.

7- Brandon Deaderick DE Alabama

6-4 314. Played 3-4 at Alabama. Wasn't very productive, but was also recovering from a gun shot wound. Adding a young prospect with upside at the 5 technique is important.

Not a "flashy" draft. No skills positions, no speed. But if this draft happened we'd be a much better team. Our existing skill players would vastly improve by having better players protecting them. I apologize if this doesn't format correctly, posting from my phone. All feedback welcome, but keep in mind this is a straight forward draft, no trades. Just using our current selections, if the draft was today. Go Broncos

Love the last pick, I've got my eye on Deaderick too. Did not realize he'd been shot, wtf?

Very close to my own picks. I guess great minds think alike. ;D

I like the first 4 picks. That would address so many needs on this team. I could seriously live with that.

I just have a feeling we're going to draft Joe Haden, CB- Florida in the first round. Not sure why...just a hunch.

really like this, but dont think we really need the punter in the 6th

Is Brandon Spikes really projected to fall that far?

I love all these picks. Big fan of the Guard and Center. Also I really want to draft Dan Williams for him to learn behind Jamal and Fields. Also love Deaderick.... but not sure if Spikes will be available with our 4th round pick

Running a 5 second 40 really hurts him. Walter football has him going to Dallas in the 4th. He could definitely go earlier, but a good chance he falls

Just my impression, but, signing the vet free agents we did along the D-line would suggest to me that the emphasis early in the draft will be elsewhere, but what do I know?

if he does i love the pick. I really want Dan Williams in round 1, C/OG in 2 and 3, then fill the rest with Dlinemen and an ILB (punter isn't a bad idea either if there's a good one out there)

I'd take all but the punter maybe throw in a WR or another LB or DE

Good Job

That would be a very nice draft for Denver, bringing solid value across the board and addressing a number of needs. I'm not sure Deaderick will be there in the 7th, but you should be able to slide him up to round 6 instead of Dodge.

The only pick I'd change is Ducasse- I'd rather see a WR there, maybe Benn? I think Walton would be enough to solidify the middle of the o-line, especially if Olson shows improvement this year.

I don't really think the signings change the draft strategy. I see a situation similar to the way Safety was addressed last year. Sign your veteran starters (Dawkins/Hill, Bannon/Williams/Green), then add quality young talent behind them (McBath/Bruton, Williams/Deaderick). I actually really like the two-pronged approach, as you see immediate improvement, build depth, and allow the youngsters to learn from quality vets before taking over the starting job.

We need an additional pick -- to nab an offensive weapon -- the best available WR or RB -- hopefully in the second.

My favorite Mock thus far.

I would also change the punter pick, but otherwise, i love this mock.

I understand reluctance to draft a punter. I just don't see many viable upgrades available in free agency, and I don't think our current crop of punters are very impressive. I couldn't stand watching Berger last year, with the exception of a couple of games. That 6th round pick I dedicated to helping us win the field position battle that we tend to lose every season. If not a punter, then a return specialist.

I thought they resigned britton with the intentions on giving him the job this season.

He is supposed to battle in camp with A.J. Trapasso. That's why I think we need a punter. Colquitt was not good
