Duke vs. Butler. I don't think I have ever been as intrigued and excited about an upcoming NCAA championship game.

I'll be rooting for Butler because they are the underdog, but Duke winning would not bother me all that much either.

That said, I think Duke will probably win.

Butler. I used to live in Indianapolis. Only for that reason :)
I think Duke looks too strong. They're going to win it all...

I do think Duke is going to win.. 5-10 points. I just don't think Butler can rebound the ball against the Duke bigs. When you play inside out (like virtually no one in college basketball can these days), it's really hard for schools like Butler to overcome.

Butler, always love the underdog. But then again, it could be any team and I'd be rooting for them against Duke, even if Duke were the underdog.

Duke has a mamouth inside game compared to Butler. I just don't see how the Bulldogs are going to counter that size advanatage, but I assume they have faced that same issue throughout the season. I hope it will be a close game, and I also hope Butler can pull it out and win.

You'd have to post something like:

"Who gives a ****? Basketball isn't a sport..."

And for all you know, he neg repped the 6 people pulling for Duke

I'm always curious about this. Why all the hate for Duke....Butler is a cool story so I get why you'd root for them. Hell I would expect almost everyone to.

Still, why do we hate a school that just does everything the right way? They recruit good kids. They play hard. They play fundamentally sound ball. They're smart. They graduate from a tremendously difficult school. Coach-K is a west-point graduate who was hugely responsible for restoring respectability to United States basketball.

Why the hate?

Why the hate?

I get the feeling that people prefer the renegade teams like the 1989-1990 UNLV Runnin' Rebels and the Fab Five Michigan Wolverines over a clean cut program like Duke. For instance, out of all the ESPN 30 in 30 documentaries, "The U" was far and away the most popular and talked about. The Canes had little regard for sportsmanship and conformity, the media romanticized it and people ate it up.

Plus, Duke is a prestigious Ivy League-caliber school and it has an elitist stigma attached to it. Maybe some people feel the students at Duke are already winners in society, on the fast track to six-figure salaries and they don't deserve to have it all in their charmed lives.

This is a very scary game to predict. On paper, Duke should win going away (based on the way they handled West Virginia). However, Butler has won 25 games in a row...

What Duke star has really had an NBA career comparable to his college career? Grant Hill his first few seasons? (Maybe?)

Reasons to hate Duke:

They historically MAKE more free throws than their opponents ATTEMPT.

They get a majority of the calls, and cry bloody murder over the VERY few they don't get.

Taking a charge is a mainstay of their defense. (Try that mess with LeBron.)

I don't expect Butler to win, but it would be sweet.

Outside of Grant Hill, Carlos Boozer is the only other player that comes to mind. Shane Battier is good as well but not as good as he was in college, but the majority are busts.

Elton Brand has enjoyed a good NBA career. He was a top 20 player for about eight years.

Anyone notice how white the championship game is this year?

How long has it been since 8 or 9 starters in the championship game were white? 30, 40 years? Probably pre-integration or just after integration. I cant remember in my life time any two teams this white.

I dont really care, I just noticed the lack of black basketball players playing for the NCAA championship game is all.

I'm not much of a hoops fan, but this game looks to be very compelling. If Butler can keep it close, and I understand that is a big 'if', this could be one of the great sports moments of all time. That being said, I want Butler to win, but I just can't see it happening. Go Butler!

Using our perception and sentiment data going into the Final Four, Butler was the fan favorite followed by Duke, WVU and Michigan State DFL. However, going into the Finals, Duke has a 1% lead on share over the last 7 days. But if you take today's chatter alone, Butler looks like the last minute fan favorite.

Great game last night! I was exhausted as hell, and kept falling asleep during commercial breaks, but I fought through and caught it all. Glad I did, too. Most exciting Final game in a while.
