I just thought this was great.

Ferrari pulled several of their race-cars from various ages out of storage, flew them around the world, and filmed them running through the streets of Rome, Rio, New York, Hong Kong and Monaco. No CGI -these are the original cars on the original streets.

The best part is the sound - from the basso-profundo notes of the early, front-engine era, each scene cuts to a later and later generation, ending with the banshee-wail of a modern F1 car. The sounds alone bring a tear to the eye. Even if you're not a gearhead, this video will stir the soul.

There's just something about 3 litres and 14,000 RPM !

I have to admit my favourite F1 sound is the V10 sound of a few years ago, renault especially had such a great sound, it is just pure aggression.

You need to watch Top Gear on BBC America.

Best show on TV.

very cool!

Okay, trivia time.

Anybody remember the car commercial from a couple years back (bmw i THINK) where the guy starts driving when it's dark, on actual streets of some big city, and he's basically just hauling ass until the sun rises? It wasn't part of those "bmw films" with clive owens, just a very cool video where they had about 14 cameras mounted to the car.

Anybody? its been driving me crazy

Dunno but I have had my BMW for 8 years, 95k and it still feels responds the same as when i drove it off the lot. I expect to put another 100k on it before "lending" it to the kids for their 1st cars.

I prefer the serenity of this car commercial:

I remember an old movie from the mid sixties called Grand Prix.

The second two cars in that clip remind me of it.

Jim Garner was in it, but the race scenes were just so AWESOME. I would
take my Mom's Rambler typhoon , tilt the seats back and pretend It was a formula 1 car, while driving around with friends after watching it.

Later on I got some wheel time in my brother in laws Aston Martin, and a couple of his XKE's, which was even better. But I was always on best behavior in those, or I wouldn't get to drive them again.

I've always been a huge bimmer fan...my dream car for the longest time was a late nineties M3. Your kids are STILL getting a sweet car at 200k though, that's for damn sure. what kind you got?

I pulled that video off about 15 times at work several years ago! It was great.

I have to admit, my 05 Vert BMW drives like new also. Still handles like it is on rails! Although, the 2011 Mustang GT is really, really starting to look good.

Not falling for that one. Got that in an email at work, bout **** my pants. Sent it to several people around the office and like a well timed, sychronized swim team, they all screamed at the same time.

Sorry, that extra long tour of the world was cute, but lacked punch.

I dont think anything this decade surpassed these VW ads. Too bad they pulled them so soon.

Its definitely sucking...

I'm a big GM fan. I had a 2002 Z06 I've got rid of last year. Looking to get me a C6 Z06 next year.
Awesome machines, and best bang for the bucks when it comes down to supercars!

My favorite Ferrari is the Ferrari Enzo.
Damn, that's an awesome looking car. $1.3 million! :wiggle:

There are a couple of those in Colorado that I know of.
