jamarcus russell reportedly weighed in at 290 pounds when he reported for the raiders' offseason program.
So oakland can scratch left tackle off its list of needs. Russell was initially reported to weigh 271, but many close to the situation immediately doubted that report. Russell, annually and incredibly overweight, isn't doing anything to shed his emerging label as the biggest bust in NFL history.

Wow, what a waste of talent.

That would be an awesome weight...for a DE.

Has anyone talked to or even seen McNabb lately...I think Russell was in shape and then found out about the McNabb talks and ate a McNabbwich

The sad things is the Broncos are one of the few teams that have found a way to lose to this guy.

ya know - thats fine, it has probably kept al davis faithful to that fat blob and ruined their franchise for half a decade.

Wow thats gotta be kinda weird that you weight more than the offensive line trying to protect you!

If I was his coach I would make him play tackle until he gets his **** together. His choices would be to play tackle or hold out so I wouldn't have to pay him. And I would make him against Seymour in one on one drills for an hour or so every practice.

Wow, what a waste of talent.

Al Davis might have done more for the long term viability of the NFL by drafting Russell than any other move he's done in recent history.

Russell is the exact reason there should be a rook salary cap. Thanks for making that painfully obvious Al. It's just another way for you to lead by example...

Wow, what a waste of talent.

What's the problem? I heard the Raiders needed some D-line help and Russell has good experience with pass rush.

In all fairness to Davis and the Raiders, Russell did impress in college and had an other-worldly pro day workout.

Why was he the #1 pick that year? I don't even remember him being very good in college..besides the natl champ game

he wasnt
he was decent but nothing special in college and had a good game against a pathetic Notre Dame defense in the sugar bowl then had a good pro day

He was the number one pick I assume because he has a cannon for an arm and because Al Davis is an idiot

If Russell ever takes football seriously again it will be a miracle. Talk about a guy who has nothing to play for. He knows he's part of a completely dysfunctional football team that has no reason to play hard because creepy all pulls all the strings. His best year will be his contract year. Book it.

I laughed at him plenty .... until he and Ashley Lelie knocked us out of the driver's seat for the playoffs. You can pretend it didn't happen, put it out of your mind, but the fact is that game was one of enormous importance, and he came into our house and beat us.

So he's not funny anymore, not to me anyway.

I guess that's your perspective. My perspective is that the Broncos will sweep the faiders in 2010.
