For anyone that has an E-reader, I found on the Australian version of the Gutenberg project that their public domain laws are different so they have Nineteen eighty-four free already.

And since my wife convinced me to try a 5 hour energy at 9 PM while watching Singing Bee, I'm wide awake at 2 AM and need something to read. Anyone got any good suggestions of either a thought provoking book or an interesting historical book?

If you've never read 1984 though, I think it's a very interesting read and you should give it a try. Definitely takes everything to an exaggerated extreme but it's worth reading once in your life.

Wooooohoooooooooooo... Booze and five hour energy... and kids soccer practice in 8 hours... Wow, my life sucks some nights.

Actually a really good book, I enjoyed it a lot. I also love the 4am gaming nights and soccer/school for the kids in the morning!

Just re-read (after a very long time) Animal Farm and am currently re-reading 1984... bought a book a few weeks ago that contains both, plus a Christopher Hitchens forward.

Pretty awesome stuff, particularly when given the context in which Orwell wrote them.
