All the snow here is almost gone! The difference between this year and last year was this year the weather cooperated, we were bettter prepared and the rivers even did what they were projected to do!

It would appear from my untrained eye that there is no shortage of water in that river.

For us down here, we have the Ohio River flooding anytime the northeast gets flooded. Whatever the other two rivers (they sound funny) that form '3 rivers' are, they both flow into the Ohio and drain down this way. Makes me wonder why they don't just make huge overflow areas to store water when the rivers go high. That'd be the perfect time to steal water from the river but not affect those downstream. I guess it may not be effective though as you'd have to basically build a lake to save all the water even a small town would need. Maybe it could help though.

It has 3 rivers flowing into it...which we why finally, Fargo is talking about a diversion plan.

I even ran outside every hour to brush the snow off the tarp.
Hilarious!

Up here East of Ft. Collins, we only had about 6 inches on the ground this morning. Blah. So here I sit at work instead of a snow day.

Must be one of those years where the snow goes over and under SLC and slams down in Colorado. The southern part of our state has gotten slammed this year but we've had little snow since Christmas. Today is absolutely beautiful. Sorry guys, hope we don't get payback next year.

well its a good thing you are not a geography major. Because the DTC is not littleton, nor that near it. If I remember correct you are centennial or even further east. I know what you got over there too. I play hockey just across from the DTC..

BUT- I live in littleton, specifically santa fe and 470 and we do indeed have 16 inches. Possibly more, well, not so much now since the sun has finally come out and cleared up everything. Regardless, I am atleast 15 minutes away from you by highway. **** man we lost our power last night, didnt come on until this afternoon. we got nailed.

last night sucked big floppy donkey dick. It took me an hour and a half to get from I-25 and university to about county line :( I stopped to help a couple people (and ps, who the **** buys a truck in colorado without 4wd????), but it was probly the worst driving conditions I've seen since I moved down here to the city. People never cease to amaze me with their driving skills...DO NOT BRAKE WHILE DRIVING UP A HILL PEOPLE. TRACTION IS YOUR FRIEND! Anywho, I was in full beast mode with my little civic (those tires I bought REALLY made a great difference btw), and about half a mile from my house, my damn drivers side wiper blade just up and leaves my car. So, drving home surrounded by crazy people, head out the window...it was pretty crazy.

THEN, about 11:30 last night, the old oak tree outside of my townhome decides it can't hold anymore snow, and one of the giant branches starts to crack. My buddy hears it, we run outside, and it falls on his car. LUCKILY, it didn't break all the way, so it kind of "floofed" down onto his ride, and today when the insurance people came there were just minor scratches and dents.

Shoveling snow at 4:30 am was definitely not fun (especially in castle rock, the g.d. armpit of hell), this was that glorious back breakingly heavy full of moisture to the point where you break wooden shovel handles kind of snow. The power goes out in castle rock and yet they don't close the county buildings haha, so I'm stuck sweating my ass off.

Then, by one o clock, suns out and I'm back in a t shirt.

Gotta love colorado!

I used to live right off of wads and chatfield...ALWAYS got more snow because of the foothills. 16 inches sounds about right to me.

Seriously!? More snow on the way....????? I know march is our snowy month, but come on. Is it ever going to end?

This to me has been one of the longest and worst winters I can remember. If I was not getting sick. It snowed. If it didnt snow it wasnt the normal Bi-polar weather we get where it snows and then is 60. Then snow again and its melted from our 65 degree sun. Then i would get sick again. I was sick more this year then we had snow.--i never get sick. Maybe 1 time a year, maybe.

Nope, not this winter. Just an ass load of 40 degree days with snow, snow and lots more snow. Atleast I was out of town when it was below zero for those few days.......

COME ON, BRING ON THE SUMMER ALREADY!!! I am done with winter this year.

I live in southern colorado, in the Arkansas Valley. For some odd reason, we are sheltered from intense snows people up north get because of monument hill and the sangres...so...I didnt do that much shoveling. Usually by the time I have to go anywhere, the roads and clear and the snow is off the car.
