Draft prospects you don't like/think are being overrated:

Here are a handful of mine right now:

Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland
Jason Pierre-Paul, DE, South Florida - I'm intrigued by his athleticism, but he is a boom or bust player. His inexperience scares me
Carlos Dunlap, DE, Florida
Rolando McClain, ILB, Alabama - The more I see of him, the more I realize he is not a Top 15 player.
Brandon Spikes, ILB, Florida - The slow 40 times are a red flag. That said, if he lasted until Round 4, I would roll the dice.
Taylor Mays, S, USC - Dude is a freak, but will be a liability in coverage. May very well be a decent starting safety in the NFL, but is not worthy of a first round grade
Myron Rolle, S, Florida State

Good list except I loves me some Myron. And I would add Demariyous Thomas (whatever his name is, guy from Georgia Tech). I like his physicality, but i want nothing to do with a receiver with "inconsistent hands".

How are Golden Tate and Sergio Kindle making your list? And what is it you don't like about Dunlap... character?

Dunlap's production and triangle numbers are impressive. 280 lb range running in the 4.6s.

Golden Tate has been very productive and then quieted most of the concerns about his speed by running in the 4.40 range.

Sergio Kindle is widely considered a late 1 to early 2nd round prospect. You think a team like the Ravens, Cardinals, or Jets couldn't benefit from his skillset?

First off all the guys I mentioned are 1st or 2nd round prospects. I don't like Dunlap because he reminds me of that DE from Miami. The one from Denver South HS. All the right size n speed but poor drive n instincts. But the character doesn't help either.

Golden Tate will nor be a bust, but I DO think he's overrated. He'll be a good slot guy but never a #1. He's not even the best slot guy in this draft in my opinion. I like Mardy Gilyard better. His route running is also suspect. If I was targeting a #2 wideout I'd rather have a Guy like Damian Williams.

Sergio Kindle just screams bust to me. A front seven guy who avoids contact and the physical side of football. I don't care how good you are at rushing the QB, if you're game is pure finesse that will not cut it in the NFL. Huge red flag. Screams stay away I felt the same way when Jarvis Moss was coming out of Florida. I don't understand why you spend a 1st rounder on a 3rd down pass rush specialist

I just don't get this. Every time, without exception, I have seen this guy play, he's in the middle of everything. A great tackler (most players today simple use the 'wham' tackle technique it seems), nose for the ball, speed, size. What on earth would make you think this player is over-rated?

I never said he would not be a good player, I just don't think he is Top 15 worthy.

I rarely rate ILBs in the Top 15.

I would like to see elite speed and athletic ability if I am going to burn a Top 10-15 pick on an ILB. McClain looks a little stiff and tight in the hips to me and may be suspect in coverage.

Nothing major, but factor those with his Chron's, and that's enough to knock him out of the Top 15 for me. If Denver had something like the 24th overall pick, I would be fine with selecting him.

Overrated:

Bryan Bulaga (those short arms are a real deal killer for a LT)
Dan Williams (he is good, but top 15 good?)
Carlos Dunlap (he lacks serious coaching)
Joe Haden (he is sloppy in his backpedal and bites hard to fakes and dukes, plays with too much cushion to compensate for his speed)
Jimmy Clausen (he doesn't show that something special as a QB)
Pouncey
Taylor Mays

Don't like:
Tim Tebow
Dez Bryant
Anthony Davis
Dexter Mccluster

Underrated:
Sergio Kindle (I think he is the most complete 3-4 OLB)
Brandon Graham (can tackle and rush)
Dominique Franks (has size, speed and skill)

Just so I know here in a couple of years, do you like your crow medium or rare?

You're thinking of Calais Campbell. Similar siza but Campbell ran in the 4.9s. Dunlap in the 4.6s! Btw, Campbell is a very good starter for the Cards. It took him a couple of years, but he is better than anyone on our DLine!!!

Cambell had 47 tackles and 7 sacks for the Cards last year!!! Tyson Jackson didn't have the skillset or athletic ability of Dunlap and he was #3 overall pick. I guess I don't get where you are coming from here?

I think CJ Spiller and Rolando McClain are the most over-hyped guys right now.

Spiller because he's not a full time back. He'll never do what Chris Johnson does. He's very dynamic, and he has excellent speed, but I don't see him as a Top 20 selection. He's vastly similar to Jahvid Best, and I think the draft gurus have Best's value correct in the late 1st, early 2nd. I think Spiller is in that boat. I believe Ryan Mathews will be the first RB taken because he can play inside and handle the workload. So, I'm a fan of Spiller, just not until around Pick #25 for any team.

McClain because he lacks the elite athleticism. He's probably a prototype 3-4 ILB. I'm just not sure if he's a 3 down guy or not. And you simply can't take a 2 down thumper in the early-mid 1st Round due to finances. His disease is just another feather in the negative cap. He doesn't have many negatives, but a lack of elite athleticism makes him a poor value early in the draft in my mind. The #11 Overall pick will get a 5 year, 27 million contract this year, that's the slot cost. While I could see a 3-4 team without a quality ILB taking a shot at him and paying those big dollars, I can't see a 4-3 team or a 3-4 team that already has a high paid ILB (us, DJ Williams) paying that amount of money for someone whom appears to primarily be a run stuffer with incredible intangibles (that's basically what Andra Davis was).

Spiller has the Tyson Jackson effect going for him, he is the best at a weak position and that means he will be overhyped and overdrafted.

Maybe. I don't really see the difference between he and Jahvid Best. They seem identical to me. And Joe McKnight is vastly similar as well. It's very odd to me that Spiller is talked about as a Top 15 possibility, Best is talked about only in the 25-35 range, and McKnight is in the Late 2nd or 3rd Round.

I think Joe is clearly the best value. And then, I'd rather take Best at around 32 than Spiller at 11. I really expect Spiller to be drafted in the Mid 20s in the draft, I think we've overvalued him right now due to desiring to find the next Chris Johnson. I don't think there is going to be another Chris Johnson.

Most people have said mine: Spikes isn't worth anything more than a sixth as far as I'm concerned. It's a passing league and a linebacker who can't outrun a fullback and some lineman isn't worth it. We play so much in the nickel that it's a joke to even consider. He wasn't that good on ST so what's the point?

Mays is horribly overrated. Not a playmaker at all even with all that talent in front of him.

I'll shock some people and say Suh is overrated. Not by much, but a little. McCoy is the better pro-prospect. I don't see Suh as being a really dominant guy in the pros.

Put me down for Colt McCoy and Dan LeFevour too. The hype in Bronco land surrounding LeFevour is incredibly stupid as he doesn't fit our profile of player at all, and isn't even that good. Colt is like watching a small child play football. I can just see the coach going "great job, sport! You sure gave a good effort, little timmy. Now go talk to Greek and get your capri sun and orange slices!"

Draft prospects you don't like/think are being overrated:

Overvalued and disliked by me....

Maurkice Pouncey- I dont see good technique or the ability to make line calls. Dont see the top 25 value at all

Iputati- Inconsistent Pass Protection...Certainly not a top 20 pick as some think value wise

Mcclain- Late 1st rd pick at best...

Taylor Mays...not a playmaker...nothing more than a run stuffing box safety

Jason Paul Pierre--reminds me of vernon Gholoston hype...

CJ spiller....I belive matthews to be the best back in this draft

Bruce Campbell.....but i like this because oakland is crazy and will make a good value prospect fall...haha

Joe haden...i do not belive he is better than kyle wilson, or devin mccourty

Tim Tebow, Colt Mccoy, Dan Lefevlour, John skelton

WR Arrelious benn, Damian williams

My favorite Sleeper Prospects at each position

QB- John Crompton, Mike kafka
RB- RB James Starks, Ben Tate
WR- Andre Roberts, Marcus Easley
OT- Roger Staffold, Vlad Ducasse
G- Thomas Austin, Brandon Carter
C- Erik Cook, Ted Larsen
TE- Dennis Pitta

DE- Corey Peters, Lorenzo Washington
NT- Linval Joesph, Travis Ivey
OLB- Jason Worlids, Koa Misi
ILB- Ryan D'Imperrio, Micah Johnson
CB- AJ Jefferson, Donovan Warren
FS- Reshad Jones, Robert Johnson
SS- Myron rolle, Barry Church

Carlos Dunlap, huge character issues and has the speed, but I don't see him translating that to playing good NFL football.

CJ Spiller, as others have said, he is the best at a weak position. The guy is a change of pace back who I doubt will be able to rival that of Chris Johnson. His value is late 1st, 2nd round pick. I think people are crazy wanting us to pick him at pick 11.

Suh, people are talking him up as basically the next dominant DT who will go to several Pro Bowls/make All Pro teams, this is more overhype because you need to see him play in the Pro's before crowning his ass
