Since we don't have a good center on roster, I will take over at centee. We may want to get Vick though. I'm sure most DTs can pick up all 190 lbs of me and just carry me to the QB.

Paxton. LOL

That does make sense. That is why we got rid of that other guy who did the same thing, just as good, but for less.

It's all about good technique. When they lift you over their head, that's when you kick and scream to take them off balance.

I'm really concerned about it. Interior OL was our weakest position last year and we haven't added anyone. At this point, we're counting on Olsen developing greatly and Kuper to get better in the man-scheme while possibly skipping OTAs because of his RFA status. Hochstein's the only guy on the roster with C experience to my knowledge and he's coming off knee surgery and is at best a backup-caliber player.

I don't know much about thie draft crop, but counting on a rookie to come in and anchor that spot is risky. I still think we should look into Mawae, at least as a stop gap. With OL play like we had last season, we wont be able to run the ball and control the clock which hurts the defense as well.

I am really excited for the draft. We now know almost exactly what we're drafting this year. Gotta love it!

Me too (or three apparently). Trade down, grab another pick and get Pouncey? SOLD. I think we'll have Olsen over at LG with Hochstein backing up - again, he's okay as a backup, but I don't want him starting again.

One way or another, I think he ends up a Bronco.

Kuper wasn't a problem last season. it was the swinging gate Center/LG combo that made the interior line look like garbage.

he has the strength and power to play in either scheme.

i am still betting on us getting Iupati in the 1st. although there are still several weeks before the draft where we can still bring in some new FA for the line.

way too soon to start worrying.

The center from Boston College Matt Tennant.

I'd like to see them bring in Mawae for a year, and draft Tennant from BC, or the center from Notre Dame.

I could live with that but I was hoping for a offensive weapon like Mardy Gilyard in the second but with Davis gone we need a ILB pretty bad now. It would be nice if we could ship Sheff away for a extra 3rd round draft pick so maybe we could land Jamar Chaney or Sean Lee. That's just a dream though.

FWIW, Kuper recently said he's not skipping offseason workouts. That doesn't help our center situation, but I wouldn't worry about RG even if he was working out somewhere else. They can't run contact drills during OTA's anyway.

I would like to see Mawae brought in even if it's just for one year. We just put Matthew Tennant through a workout, and according to scout.com also worked out Ducasse last week. (http://profootball.scout.com/a.z?s=127&p=9&c=2&cid=954196&nid=4298648&fhn=1) So at least they are aware of the problem and looking at options.

I wouldn't mind Mawae and then a couple of lineman and let the best one battle it out in camp to play at LG.

So they are aware they do not have a starting caliber center on the roster. Who knew!

Why would we sign Mawae? He is a small center, we could've kept Weigman at a decent price if we wanted a smart, small, older center. We are going to get more of a power center, probably weighing 310 range. Look for one early in the 2nd round.

I'm hoping we come away with one of these 4 players in the draft:
Pouncey
Walton
Tennant
Olsen

Ranked in order. I love the idea of trading down in the first, adding a pick, and landing Pouncey. But most teams want to trade down, so actually making it happen is unlikely.

You should have made this into a poll. Baja would have been proud of you, lol.

I'm hoping it's JD Walton.

I really think bringing in Mawae for a year while a rook learns behind him is the best idea. He'll retire after this year and we'll have someone who learned under one of the best.
