I predict there will be a Jay Cutler thread next week.

Technically we'd have to trade for Quinn. He still has some trade value and I don't see the Browns just releasing him.

You are right I think he will be a Bronco for a 4th round pick conditional.

I don't get the Quinn thing. Aside from being drafted high, why is he considered anything other than a future back-up?

I don't know. What I do know is McD tried to get him last season to replace Cutler. Now he can have him for cheap and we all know how much Simms sucks.

Quinn is awful and his celebrity would try to create a quarterback controversy. just say no.

I'd be all for that.

He's got alot of talent and potential, plus he is incredibly smart and came from the watered down collegiate version of McDaniels offense. Let him sit behind Orton this year and then let them fight for the job in 2011 and I bet you Quinn wins that job easily.

We saw how solid he looked against us in 2008, and that was his first NFL start if I'm not mistaken. You put some talent around him with McD's coaching and I think we'd have a winner.

his celebrity would try to create a quarterback controversy. just say no. How do you figure that? To my knowledge Quinn has NEVER been a locker room problem at any level.

well yes to the groom part (or would he be considered the bride) but no to the draft part.

it has little to do with him. he's a first round pick from THE school, and has a familiarity with a similar system to what we run. the second he stepped foot on Colorado soil the media and the fans would stir things up. it's not worth it.

Well that's their problem. I can guarantee you that McD and the rest of the organization doesn't give a ****.

so it's better to keep Simms thus avoiding any QB controversy ?

no, we need a real backup. we don't need someone to seriously challenge Orton, because the headache isn't worth it unless there's a clear upgrade, which there isn't.

Trade for Brady Quinn and then send him and Kyle Orton out on the town drinking....the pictures that would make their way to the Internet soon after would be worth the mid round draft pick alone.

I would trade a 4th round pick for Brady Quinn.

He did not have much stability in Cleveland....a change of scenery would do him well.

He might come in and excel under Josh's tutelage.

Quinn has only started 12 games for the Browns, I am surprised they are not willing to give him the 2010 season to see what he can do.

I would do that trade. The possibility of having a long term #2 QB is appealing. He is young and could possibly be counted on to win a few games a year if called upon.

Quinn would be an excellent addition, better than Simms with much bigger upside. A year to learn and a year to compete. QB sorted. IMO.

Quinn couldn't beat out Jake DelHomme for a job. What makes anybody think he could beat out Orton? Or Brandstater, for that matter. The truth is, he can't. Hopefully, Josh has no intention of bringing that loser to the Broncos.

I'd be willing to entertain getting Quinn.

I guess my issue is, I feel like we've seen the Kyle Orton movie already. It was called Jake Plummer. Good games here and there, but no big games.

Look, I'm not anti-Orton just to be anti-Orton. If the guy sets the world on fire in the second year of McD's offense, I'll be first in line to get his jersey. I just don't see it happening. I would like to see us start fresh with a young guy, be it Brandstater, Quinn, or a draft pick.

I agree here. I'm a fan of Orton, but I'm not imagining he's the next Tom Brady or that he's the long term answer to our QB situation.

I think he's easily the best option for next season, and I'm open to the idea that he blows the roof off the place and leads this team deep into the playoffs. However, when I'm honest with myself I don't really see that happening.

We need to hedge our bets in the QB department, and I think Quinn has as much ability to be successful in Denver as any draftee and probably more upside than Kyle.

PS Edit; I'd rather give up Scheffler for Quinn than a draft pick.

I was impressed by Quinn when we played Cleveland in Cleveland. He looked like he had good poise in the pocket and checked down to the open receiver. Its cleveland people where careers are ruined not made. I really think a change of scenery will do wonders!

Dude he played for the Browns, a very below average Brows with questionable coaching. his ability remains an unknown. Mcd will watch tons of film and if he brings him in the fold than that is good enough for me.

Quinn, I've always thought he had a little bit of upside. A 4th? Jeez, that's a tough call. He's an upgrade over Simms. Is Quinn an upgrade over Orton? You have to make a case for that, because I say no.

Better to roll the dice on a rookie and Brandstater, and use the 4th on a rookie. Quinn, despite playing in Cleveland, just doesn't look like an NFL starter. He looks lost when he has time, doesn't pull the trigger fast enough. Reminds me of Rob Johnson, but a weaker arm.

Tony Grossi, of The Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports Cleveland Browns (http://www.orangemane.com/team/13/nfl) QB Brady Quinn (http://www.orangemane.com/player/13456/nfl) has no future with the Browns (http://www.orangemane.com/team/13/nfl) and will be traded or released, possibly as soon as this week.

Quinn couldn't beat out Jake DelHomme for a job.

Well, to be fair, he wasn't really given a chance. Holmgren has hitched his wagon to Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace. Good luck with that.

I'd be all for bringing Quinn to Denver but I'd wait until his release. It will be interesting to see if KC is also interested because of the Weis connection.

I don't think that Pioli would allow them to pick up someone that could create a QB controversy after they made such a huge financial investment in Cassell last year.

As for Quinn, if he's released there should be no reason, other than being outbid by another team, that keeps the Broncos from picking him up. He would definitely be a superior backup compared to Simms. Also, he could potentially create some actual competition in camp for Orton and I think that Orton is the type of guy that won't fold under those conditions.
