You know something.

That bastard Clark took Darrent's life which is inexcusable in itself but I think he took far more from the Broncos that day.

Look how many people that killing affected, family, players, Broncos staff, fans alike all at different levels.

I realise sport comes nowhere near life but that day put this franchise back no doubt about that. In the end it lost us a lot more than Darrent.

It's amazing to think about the potential he had as a player and the whole situation itself. Shanahan had thought he struck gold with those cornerbacks and while they weren't perect, all had good parts of their game and some seemed to need a schematic change in order to help. Great to see those pictures up there. Good memories.

Chinese Bamboo Torture is an ancient form of torture which utilizes the natural properties of bamboo.

The victim is taken outside and either strung between two posts or trees or strapped to a base composed of widely separated slats. The aim is to have the victim suspended horizontally with access to his or her torso from below.

This takes place directly above a patch of young bamboo plants, a plant which is very strong and grows rapidly reaching staggering heights.
Hence as the victim lay suspended in mid air the bamboo would begin to grow towards them.

The pain and discomfort at being held in such an unnatural position for several days was in itself a bad experience. However the torturers would also cut the tips of the stems to ensure a sharp point as they grew towards the victim. When the bamboo reached the victims skin the real pain began as the sharp points dug in.

If the victim refused to cooperate at this point (or if the torturer was particularly sadistic) they were left there as the bamboo continued to grow. Owing to the incredible strength of the bamboo stem and the sharpness of the tip, the plant would on most occasions pierce the skin and continue to grow through the abdomen (and any other flesh in its way) eventually causing death.

More than three years after one of his most promising young players was shot and killed on New Year's Eve, Broncos owner Pat Bowlen has issued a statement in response to the conviction of the man who killed him.

"Nothing can ever bring Darrent Williams back or ease the suffering for [Williams' mother] Rosalind and her grandchildren," Bowlen said. "But after three long years, it is very gratifying to see closure brought to this case. This process has been extremely difficult for the Williams family, his friends and teammates, this community, and the entire Denver Broncos organization.

"I would like to praise the long and hard work of the Denver Police Department and the Denver District Attorney's Office. I also want to thank the Denver community for the overwhelming support that both the Williams family and the Broncos have received during this unimaginable tragedy.

"Darrent's legacy will live on for all of us in the Broncos organization, and the outstanding work done each day at the Darrent Williams Memorial Teen Center is a tribute to his impact on this community. Our hearts continue to go out to the entire Williams family."

Closure is indeed the best aspect of today's guilty verdict. Without it, there most likely never would have been a conviction -- and closure most likely never would have been obtained. (PFT)

The affidavit describes a “subset” of the Rollin’ 30s known as the “Tre-Tre Gangster Crips,” and another “subset” of that organization known to police as “The Elite Eight.”

“The Tre-Tre gang and the Elite Eight engaged in a long-term pattern of large-scale cocaine and crack cocaine trafficking, weapons possession and gun trafficking, as well as numerous acts of violence including drive-by shootings, drug rips and home invasion robberies,” the affidavit stated.

“In addition, there are approximately 11 unsolved murders which can be traced to members of the Elite Eight and the Tre-Tre Crips.” The affidavit does not identify Clark as a member of the Elite Eight, but does identify him as a Tre-Tre Crip who has conspired with the Elite Eight.

According to court records, he has 25 prior arrests in Colorado and Texas. The affidavit alleges that within the Hicks organization, Clark’s role was to live in and control a property at 43rd and Cook Streets in Denver where Clark helped convert powdered cocaine into crack, and sell both cocaine and crack to clients of the drug ring.

To put it bluntly, the black gangs are the only bigtime gang problem in Denver. I was born and raised in Denver, and for a long time the whites and Mexicans went at it, but didn't shoot up everything. The black gangs were stuck in Five Points but then got empowered a bit spreading out to Montbello. Then the crack cocaine epidemic brought cash in, and voila it was like candy on Christmas. The black gangs had dollars galore, they could buy weapons galore and they did. And sure enough where the black gangs are, that's where the most gunshots are.

Mostly they kill themselves, but still, who wants a bunch of guys running rampant? Who wants to move into that neighborhood? Who wants to welcome a black family into their neighborhood carrying baggage like that.

No Brandon Marshall was the target. He had words with shooter outside club. Shooter was mad Broncos got to walk right in. Darrent was not target, it was Marshall, but really dude probably had no idea who he would hit, he just took his shots and hoped maybe Marshall was in there.

Denver might not be safe for Brandon. The truth is maybe he has told Broncos that he can't live there anymore. Other teams know that so they figure they can get him cheaper then a high first if they wait. Probably the thinking is matching not an option for Denver because they know Brandon can't be happy in a city where the local crip affiliate probably would still like to shoot him.

agreed. funding a gang to kill another gang? great idea.

Kinda reminds me of some of the things the US has done with some countries. I backfired there also.

Oy Vey!

Hey, that was some hard-hitting journalism right there. Or maybe not. Eh, WTH, I like to add in a dash of local history now and then. And I'm fairly accurate, yes?

Prison is not like that. Unless you molest a child, most other prisoners dont give a **** what you did. Its not like he is locked up with fine upstanding individuals. He's locked up with ****ing criminals and they wont do ****. He might even have some cred for shooting someone famous.

Speaking of death penalties. Get rid of lethal injection, gas, electric chairs. THat **** is expensive. Rope is 20 cents a foot and can be re-used.

I like the meat and potatos approach i think they put way to much effort into getting rid of piles of shyt they should also end all those money wasting appeals that take years to rectify but you can blame that on special groups, lawyers and loopholes that should have ben closed years ago.
