This is a "What-If" Thread, but:

Everyone is assuming that now that Seneca Wallace is in Cleveland they will release Derek Anderson. Should Denver take a shot at him? He's been to the Pro Bowl and has the "strong arm" many around here covet.

Poll to come.

His decision making is **** though.

Well, if Cutler and Jake Plummer can change....

Who says Cutler has changed?

I like Anderson, always have. If we get a line that can protect him, and McD. give him the all we are trying to do is win the **** game speach, I think he will give Kyle all that he wants and might even win the job.

Derek Anderson in 2009: 3 TD's, 10 INT's, and a QB rating of 42.1.

Sorry, but i'll take Brandstater, probably even Simms (although that would be painful).

If he's cut, I don't think there's a way that Shanny doesn't grab him. More of his type of QB--strong armed, mobile, gunslinger mentality.

When did Derek Anderson become mobile?

I'll take Dan LeFevour please.

I dont get the Anderson love at all. He has one "good" season that when you actually look at the numbers, wasn't all that good. he's not all that accurate. I dont see why anyone would find him to be a good fit in our offense

His 2007 season defined flash in the pan.

Wasn't he involved in the Browns coin flip over who would start between him and Charlie Frye?

No thanks.

Where's the option for "I'd rather cut off my wanger"?

Where's the option for "I'd rather cut off my wanger"?

That would be the "yes" option.

Its subtle.

When did Derek Anderson become mobile?

Maybe mobile is too strong...I just remember him scrambling for a lot of yards that first season when he came in off the bench. Looking at the stats though, apparently it was just one run for 33 yards that apparently got stuck in my head?

haha, yeah, wouldn't say mobile in retrospect.

Hell no. If we get a QB from the Browns, I want Quinn.

Send them a 7th rounder. Get it done. Low risk, high reward.

The only QB I would want from the Browns is Otto Graham...

I definitely want us to look in the draft. Bradford, clausen- are obviously top choices, however we will not be landing them so guys like pike, skelton etc I owuld like to see us add.

However, DA- IMO would be a fantastic backup. He has all the tool that jmfmd likes. And he has produced before. We know this. Derek has struggled and I am not going to deflect blame too much but....

He tore it up that one year. When the Browns OL went to crap he struggled. When they couldnt run the ball he struggled. Jamal lewis went for 1500+ yards that year. The next year less than 1k. So he had no run game either... Now obviously, there were a ton of ****ty plays he made and is by no means going to be a starter, but he has shown he can be a good to great QB in the NFL. When he has an OL and such. I would think that with our team, we might, if ORton goes down, be very successful with him.

Derrick Anderson has absolutely no ability to throw the short or intermediate passes. He is a one trick pony who can wind up and throw a laser down field. An absolutely terrible fit for McDaniels offense.

The NFL average for completing passes in the 1-to-10 yard range is 67.0 percent. Anderson was at 54.2 last season.

Derek Anderson is a potato head who cannot hit the broadside of a barn from 10 feet away.

So if we combine Anderson and Orton then we've got one decent QB.
