http://www.cinematical.com/2010/02/08/ghostbusters-3-news-murray-confirms-rumors-possible-villain/

As the writers slave over another draft of the Ghostbusters 3 script -- with production hopefully beginning later this year -- some more news regarding the film's storyline has slipped out across these internets, with one aspect being an exclusive to Cinematical.

Possible spoilers for Ghostbusters 3 to follow ...

First up is the news that Bill Murray has confirmed his other-worldly role in the film. A few months back, Sigourney Weaver had let slip that Murray was going to be playing a ghost in the film -- a rumor that was later squashed by folks who claimed that particular storyline was featured in a very old draft. However, Murray has now gone on record as not only disliking the second Ghostbusters movie (something he's said before) and thinking that Groundhog Day should've been a bigger hit, but also noting that he would only return to the Ghostbusters franchise if they made his character a ghost. He says, "I said to them, 'I'll do it if you kill me off in the first reel.' So now they are going to have me as a ghost in the film." Murray as a ghost? I hope it works. What do you think?...

Dude! Can't you read!?!?! Bill Murray gets killed off and becomes a ghost. Do not let your children watch this movie unless you want them to become murderous worshipers of gofer-killing-demon-spirits.

On the other hand, Bill Murray didn't like Ghostbusters 2, so that might send a good message to our nations youth.

Not if you don't want them to end up in Meth Alley.

They just waited too long for this. Have people seen Haroldis Ramis lately?

The ship has sailed man. Just let it go!

I hear the Jews have a good knack for finding musical talent, considering they own most of the Memphis music scene.

So...I'm guessing they are going to have this "moral dilemma" on "busting" Murray's ghost or letting him roam free in the city? This DOES sound terrible...LOL

The soundtrack for Ghostbusters II alone should've been grounds for ending the series.

Can I get some "On Our Own" anybody?

LOL

Bill Murray = ghost ='s he just want's to do voice overs which ='s more $ for less work.

That's the real reason.

Personally I think it's retarded. I liked his character as a human.

I dont really care, I will likely get it on DVD from the library if it ever gets made but am not rushing out to get it.

BTW speaking of Bill Murray has anyone seen Zombieland? I thought it was well worth 90 minutes of my life. Sure it could have been better but I thought it was solid though "Shawn of the Dead" was way better. There is something about Emma Stone that appeals to me, not sure if it is her red hair or what she doesn't have the best body or rack but there is something about her...but I digress... Anywho Bill Murray plays himself in the movie and is very funny, it made the movie for me.

I recommend Zombieland but I wouldn't play it for my kids...

The original Ghostbusters was awesome, but it was quarter of a century ago. I actually liked the second more than most, and I know Dan Akroyd is desperate for work, but this is ridiculous. They should have made this third one fifteen years ago and put the franchise to bed.

True. I think the guy just takes any role under the sun just for the sheer fun of acting....I mean, how else can one really explain participation in such things as Caddyshack 2, Sgt. Bilko, Doctor Detroit, Blues Brothers 2000 and so on?

That is my absolute favorite soundtrack (non-instrumental) of all time. The songs are awesome. The movie...not so much...

and that's the thing. Ak should've spared us the movie and just made one of those compilation CD's like Martin Scorsese did.

Do you realize that Stay Puff Marshmellow Man has put 1,234,675 hours of nightmares on kids! You know, I heard some parent sued a daycare for showing this without parent approval. Right here at the Mane and not the Light Rail.
