I'm not sure when this is but I'm pretty sure it happens at the owners meeting that takes place during the combine.

Since every mock I've seen has us with the 11th pick, I assume we'll win the toss and be picking at 10. ;D

Does Jax have similar needs as us?

Their big needs are OL, S and WR and maybe a big DE. So some overlap but it doesn't look like we will be fighting too much for players, I could see them maybe go for Dunlap, Bryant or Sergio Kindle with Iupati and Derrick Thomas as outsiders.

Coin flip for tenth pick coming Friday (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/02/24/coin-flip-for-tenth-pick-coming-friday/)

We mentioned earlier today that the Broncos and the Jaguars hold the 10th and 11th picks in the 2010 draft. The specific order will be determined via coin flip.

Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that the coin flip will occur on Friday (http://blogs.denverpost.com/broncos/2010/02/24/coin-flip-for-no-10-friday/), at the Scouting Combine.

Though the flip of a coin is the last of up to 12 measures for breaking ties as to teams that qualify for the postseason, the coin flip is No. 3 when it comes to draft order, behind strength of schedule and division or conference tie breakers, "if applicable."

In this case, the Broncos are holding the Bears' spot in round one, due to the Jay Cutler trade. Because Chicago and Jacksonville aren't in the same conference, the division and conference tiebreakers are not applicable.

So it'll come down to a coin flip.

Hey, if it's good enough to determine who gets possession first in sudden-victory overtime of the NFC title game, it's good enough to determine whether a team picks 10th or 11th.

And now the rants will come about McDaniels 12 man draft board.

whether we win the toss or not, should we keep the pick or trade down and add picks? i'm not too keen on trading up.

Actually, they should've traded down last year into this year.

Better players across board in this draft.

The good news is we don't need a 12 man board since at most 10 players can be drafted before we go, so can cut it to 11 this year. :flower:

They flip Friday at an "undisclosed location" in Indianapolis: http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=1928

This is the last year for the combine in Indy too I think ... any news on where it'll be next year?

Does Jax have similar needs as us?

Pass rusher. They had just 14 sacks this year ... 32nd in the league, and an all-time franchise low.

What kind of coin is it? Is it a special Broncos/Jags coin made for the occasion? Is it a quarter? Does someone call heads or tails? If so, who?

Since it's at "an undisclosed location", we'll probably never know ???

It's a flip between Chicago/Jax, Denver has nothing to do with it. We just assume the Chicago pick once it is finalised...
