From what I gather: -Corey Wooton will be gone by the time we pick in the second
-Mount Cody will be gone by the time we pick in the second
-Cody is lot better prospect than Price from UCLA
-Vlad Ducasse is mentally weak and projects to Guard
(which suits our needs just fine)

I think it's worse then that. Mentally weak and won't make it in the NFL.

Just some Broncos-related tidbits from FoxSports.com:

If the Rams commit to Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford as their No. 1 pick in this year's draft, could a deal for Brandon Marshall soon be in the works?

A source close to the Rams told me that the team still has strong interest in the Broncos wide receiver. And that interest may spiral up in the coming weeks if the team is serious about making Bradford their franchise quarterback.

It's become obvious that no team is willing to part with a first-round pick to pluck Marshall from Denver, but the Rams could offer the next-best thing--the top pick in the second round. That would help the Rams create a more solid core of talent around their rookie quarterback with Marshall, wide receiver Donnie Avery and running back Steven Jackson.

The Titans, Raiders, Packers and Texans have wide receiver Mardy Gilyard high on their radar.

The smooth-running University of Cincinnati star worked out with Chad Ochocinco last summer prior to tallying a career-high 87 catches for 1,191 yards and 11 touchdowns during his senior year. And he's already on record saying that he'd like to continue his football career in Cincinnati if the Bengals are interested.

While he'll get a chance to visit with Cincinnati during the club's pro day workout for local area prospects, the 6-foot-tall, 187-pound receiver and returns specialist is currently drawing more consistent interest from those other four teams. He's also conducted private workouts for the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos and has an official visit scheduled with the Titans.

Clemson wide receiver Jacoby Ford told me this week that he's worked out for the receivers coaches of the Denver Broncos and the Cleveland Browns. He'll also be working out at the Dolphins' pro day for local area prospects on April 9.

Ford posted the top electronic forty-time (4.28 seconds) among the receivers at the NFL Combine, but teams have realized that he's got a lot more to offer than speed.

"They definitely like my toughness, and being smooth and polished as a route-runner," he said. "Teams are talking to me about being a slot receiver, but they've been asking me if I'm comfortable outside, too. I played three different positions last year, so I think that's going to benefit me this year."

Report suggests Raiders are interested in Tebow

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/04/07/report-suggests-raiders-are-interested-in-tebow/

Posted by Michael David Smith on April 7, 2010 5:06 PM ET

No team is more unpredictable at NFL draft time than the Oakland Raiders, and no player's draft position has been harder to peg this year than Florida quarterback Tim Tebow. So a report linking Tebow to the Raiders has to be taken with a grain of salt.

But the information from NFL.com draft analyst Gil Brandt that Jerry McDonald of InsideBayArea.com passes along, suggesting the Raiders are impressed with Tebow, is worth noting nonetheless.

McDonald writes that, according to Brandt, the Raiders' coaches met with Tebow and came away impressed with the way he responded when they asked him to break down a play.

According to Brandt, Tebow went over the play and told them, "This is how it's called with Florida, this is how it's called with your organization, and this is how it's called with West Coast teams."

In recounting Tebow's conversation with the Raiders' staff, Brandt said, "I'm not sure if this is true." So maybe we need to take this with more than just a grain of salt. But if the report is to be believed, the Raiders can be added to the list of teams that may be interested in Tebow.

LOL-

But if Jawalrus russell can run for 40 yards on us on 4th down. What do you think tebow will be able to do.

:)

Yeah, i'm resigned to the fact that no matter how shi**y the Faid are, their QBs will have their one awesome (read: average) game against the Broncos.

I don't care if Tebow looks like a world beater against Denver once a year, I just want to shut everyone up who thinks he was born to win.

Not an original opinion by any means, but I think he MIGHT have a shot at some success in the right situation. But by no means do I think he is some "natural winner" that can do enact the Bearded Man's will on earth.

So what do you figure the painfully annoying song that they play every time they go to and come back from commercial this year will be? My money's on that "I got a feelin'" Black eyed Peas song. Pretty sure i'm going to want to shoot my ears off by the 15th pick.

If we could get the Rams second rounder, plus their second or third rounder next year, it would be awesome. I don't want Marshall gone, but there is tremendous value with that pick - especially with Guard / Center / D-line options that should be available at that spot.

Jimmy Clausen enjoys solid Pro Day

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/04/09/jimmy-clausen-enjoys-solid-pro-day/

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on April 9, 2010 2:25 PM ET

Since we weren't at Jimmy Clausen's Pro Day, we'll defer to NFL Network's Mike Mayock opinion on the proceedings.

"I saw everything I need to see," Mayock said. "He had a strong arm. Good accuracy. I saw what I expected to see."

Mayock mentioned that Clausen's mechanics were improved from his junior season, especially with his feet. Clausen's healed toe was a big factor there, according to Clausen.

NFL Network's Mike Lombardi thought Clausen had a much better workout than Brady Quinn back in the day. SI's Tony Pauline was also in attendance, and was less impressed.

Few people seem to doubt Clausen's physical skills. Mayock also said he's getting "more comfortable" with Clausen as a person. He believes Clausen loves football, but didn't seem as sure whether Clausen was "a leader of men."

The most interesting opinion of the day from Mayock was about where Clausen will land in the draft. He sees Clausen as a "top ten talent" that won't get past San Francisco at pick No. 17.

It is so funny that we get all caught up in who Mock Drafts have us taking. I do the same thing. In the end most mocks will be lucky to get one maybe 2 draft picks correct.

Couple of things from listening to sirius radio today.

Vlad Ducasse- he doesn't sound like a player I want at all. The guys running the show said he got his ass kicked all during the senior bowl. Not a good sign.

Sean Lee sounds like a smart kid. He answered all the questions very well in regards on what to look for in the guy lined up across him. He knows what he needs to work on strength wise.

Pats are in love with Dez Bryant. I smell a trade with them on draft day.

You cant always go by that. Senior Bowl week is played well after the season ends and not every one is as sharp as they were during the season. If a guy does well, I think its worth noting, but if a guy does poorly, I wouldnt automatically count him out.

Of course, moot point if McClain is the pick.

I think he and Pat Angerer are more of the blue collar type LB's that the Pats love to use. Listening to Lee on the radio really sold me on him.

Casserly said tonight Lee could go as early as late first. If we don't take an ILB in the first, I would like to see Lee and a WR in the second.

Damian Williams seems like an unheralded (in these parts), but somewhat likely option as far as 2nd round WRs go. Haven't seen much of his play, but on paper, sounds very deion branch-y.

Decker! Yeah, he has the look of a great prospect, but seems to me like he'll be around late in the 3rd or perhaps early 4th. Maybe even later...

Sadly though, he seems like the kind of player I jizz my pants about before the draft and then ends up doing nothing in the league. Hope for his sake (and my own ego) that this isn't the case yet again.

Ha! I see him rated as a second rounder in most draft previews. Mayock has him rated the fifth WR along with Williams. I think we had them both in for visits. Certainly should be able to get a solid WR prospect in this draft, no question.

i know we have mentioned him before, but demaryius thomas, wr, georgia tech is being underrated in this draft.

He is recovering from a broken foot and is going to try and work out for teams in april.

He is 6'3 1/4 and 224 pounds. Supposedly, he has been timed at 4.38 in the 40.

He averaged 25.1 ypc in 2009, which is nuts.

He is projected as a 2nd round pick right now, but i don't think he will be there at our pick in the 2nd round....someone will take him at the end of the 1st round or top of the 2nd round.

If we trade b-marsh, he would be an excellent replacement. I love his stiff arm.

I've been studying the centers in this draft, as it is apparent that we need one and will be drafting one.

My choice is: J.D. Walton, C, Baylor.

6'2 5/8 and 300 pounds. Tough and nasty, bulky, stout, good pass and run blocker, a leader. Basically everything you want in a center.

My preference would be to take him in Round 3.

I called that shot back on March 16th.

Hmm... way to troll one of the better posters on this board :troll:
It was a bit interesting that Unga was very nearly undrafted in a supplemental draft after people "in the know" like Lombardi speculated that some teams would venture a 3rd on him
I wonder what teams after the Bears submitted a 7th on him?
