I really, really hope the hall doesn't screw him over. I'm only 28 and have been a Broncos fan my whole life so unfortunately I didn't get to see Floyd run. He is still my dads favorite bronco, and after reading his book I realize that he is the most important player in Broncos history. They better not screw him over!! Let's go Floyd!!!

To the question about LeBeau: he actually doesn't pose a direct threat to Little's chances. Voters simply vote yea or nay. The question isn't "which is more-worthy of Hall of Fame," but rather "Is LeBeau worthy of Hall of Fame?" and "Is Little worthy of Hall of Fame?" Neither, both, or one could get in, depending on the votes.

That said, that fat-ass prick Peter King has written that he doesn't think Little is a Hall of Famer, which worries me. Of course, Peter King is a fagbot cockwallet, and if I was in the room with him, not only would I not listen to his opinion -- on anything -- I'd take any opportunity to punch him in the dick.

Yeah. I don't care for Peter King.

Jeez!
What is it that Peter King said about McDaniels that got you so upset? :P

You're so funny, dragqueen! Go tell mommy what you said! She'll give you a cookie!

Since you're retarded, I'll explain. Thought what I wrote would be clear enough, but it couldn't cut through your brain-damaged state.

Ahem. Peter King wrote that Little wasn't a hall of famer. I wrote that above. Where you get McDaniels out of that, I don't know...

All that said, Good Luck Floyd! The Post is saying he's a near-lock, and if Shannon has to wait a year to get Floyd in, I'm okay with that.

Can the Broncos be relevant to the Hall? We have 1 1/2 guys in there now. Someone from pre-Elway (not that Elway had many superstars surrounding him until the late 90s) would be nice. If Floyd can get in, I would hope Gradishar would be next.

<!--title-->Paige: A Little respect for Sharpe players

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Note: This column was e-mailed Friday to the 44 voters for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. They will meet for five hours today to elect the 2010 inductees.

The number of bona fide Broncos selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame could, and should, double.
From two to four.
The Denver Broncos' franchise recently completed its 50th season as a member of the American and National Football Leagues, has played in eight AFC championships, won two Super Bowls, but can't get its deserved respect and a measure of honor in Canton, Ohio.
It's shameful.
John Elway, a full-fledged Bronco for 16 years, and Gary Zimmerman, who spent the final five of his 12 NFL seasons in Denver, have been enshrined. Everyone else from the Broncos' half-century history is on the outside looking in.
The Hall's Board of Selectors can do something special (today).
Floyd Little and Shannon Sharpe, two of pro football's greatest players, will be finalists when the discussions, deliberations and balloting begin. Neither is a cinch, but both belong.
Only two teams have played in more Super Bowls than the Broncos, who have been to six in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. The Dallas Cowboys have played in eight, the Steelers seven. The Patriots also have reached six. Twenty Steelers, 16 Cowboys and four Patriots are in the Hall of Fame.
And the Broncos have fewer busts in Canton than the Seattle Seahawks, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and one of this season's Super Bowl teams, the New Orleans Saints. The other original AFL franchises have a total of 63 players in the Hall of Fame.
Certainly, the Broncos were the striped-sock laughingstocks of pro football for many years. But in 1977 they became an NFL power, and, until recent seasons, were one of the most dominant franchises in football with owner Pat Bowlen, coaches Dan Reeves and Mike Shana-han and a strong group of Pro Bowl linebackers, running backs, cornerbacks, offensive linemen and, of course, Elway.
It's disgraceful that only two Broncos have been recognized.
Linebacker Randy Gradishar, who came close one year, is a genuine Hall of Famer. Steve Atwater and Dennis Smith ought to have received more consideration. Before there was Champ Bailey, there was Louis Wright, one of the best corners ever to play the game. No defender has been more versatile and fierce than Karl Mecklenburg, and he has been bypassed. Terrell Davis was a brilliant flame — a 2,000- yard rushing season and an MVP award in the Super Bowl — but a knee injury shortened his career and ended his Hall of Fame hopes. And Rich Jackson was the supreme defensive lineman who went unappreciated.
But Little and Sharpe must not be denied.
In one game, Broncos coach Lou Saban told Little he had been benched. Rather than accept the demotion, Floyd ran back onto the field, then had a sensational second half. Little wasn't defiant. He was confident.
Back when the NFL played only 14 games and 1,000-yard seasons were rare, Floyd Little ran for 6,323 yards, received for 2,418 yards and scored 54 touchdowns in nine seasons. He led the NFL in rushing in 1971 and was a joy to watch for nine seasons on a team that had nothing else to enjoy.
Big Floyd Little ended up with the seventh- highest rushing total ever in pro football. The top six are in the Hall of Fame. Make it seven. It defies reason that Floyd didn't make the Hall of Fame earlier, but the selectors' senior committee, composed of men who saw Floyd play and understood how he played, has recommended him for induction now. It would be a monumental mistake to exclude Floyd again.
Shannon Sharpe set the career mark for most yardage for a tight end. What else do you want? How about championships? He won three — two with the Broncos, one with the Ravens. How about distinction? Sharpe changed the way tight ends were utilized. What about moments? When the Broncos were confronted with their most critical fourth down in the playoffs on the way to their first Super Bowl, Shannon changed his route, made a cut that sliced the defense and picked up the first down. Sharpe always was sharpest when the times were tough. It was said that Elway helped make Sharpe. Sharpe helped mold Elway. Sharpe should have been chosen last year.
I served as a Hall of Fame selector from Denver and New York over two decades. Having covered the game for 40 years, I know a Hall of Famer. Floyd and Shannon have earned privileged places in the Hall of Fame.
Today, Hall of Fame selectors, finally, respect the Broncos, their legions of fans for 50 years and, most important, Floyd Little and Shannon Sharpe.
Right the wrong.

I'm really having mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, it's great that Little made it, even though it's so late as to be like receiving the crumbs from the HOF table. Then, on the other hand, it's another insult to a first ballot HOFer like Shannon who revolutionized and dominated his position for an entire decade in the NFL, was one of the clutch third down receivers of all time, a pro-bowler, and three time Super Bowl winner. In a way, I still feel as if the HOF continues to insult the Broncos franchise.

Yes, this is Floyd's day. We will give that to him without whining too hard over Shannon and Randy and Louis, all deserving in their own right. The significance of Floyd is that there is still a team in Denver. We should never underestimate what he meant to a losing franchise and the fans in those early years. He gave all he had, giving Denver their first true super star. Until I moved to Colorado, I really didn't know who he was. I quickly fell in love with him as a player and a representative of the Denver Broncos.

I'm tempted to go, because it's freakin' AWESOME that Little has finally been acknowledged!

And as PISSED as I am about their ignorance towards Sharpe (AGAIN), I don't mind seeing as they did send in a FULL class of players this year! If it was a class of only 5 or 6, I'd be totally irate!
