Lane Kiffin really is getting a jump on recruiting.

No sooner had the Trojans new coach put the finishing touches on the Class of 2010 recruits, that he turned his attention to the Class of 2014.

That's right, 2014.

Thursday evening Kiffin received a verbal commitment from 13-year old wunderkind quarterback David Sills of Bear County, Del..

lol it's hard enough keeping a 17-18 year old kid to stay committed. Good luck with that Lane.

My original thoughts. The kid says its his DREAM to play at USC. Ha, until other coaches start calling. There is going to be some serious brain washing going on and it starts now. This could get really ugly.

Well maybe USC will be off probation by then :~ohyah!:

If I were a sinister football coach at a major university, I would probably send my school's top psychiatrist posing as a quarterback coach to have a chat with him. I would find out every single thing that he likes, and eventually everything that he dislikes, and then basically use that information to funnel him into my program.

THAT is how you win football games.

Meh. The verbal commitment of a 13-yo, for plans five years in the future, is worth the paper it's written on.

The kid will probably end up like Todd Marinovich before it's all said and done.

For ****'s sake, let a kid be a kid.

Here's the next kid ready to be a Trojan. If it wasn't for a broken Trojan, he wouldn't even have a chance right now. Granted, he's just a little squirt at the present.

Not sure how well he's going to develop in Delaware. Pretty weak high school football.

It should be easier for USC's boosters to hide funds for bikes and video games this way so maybe they are onto something.

Well in a bad economy, U$C is trying to cut back on money...so they are buying off these 13 yr olds with PS3s and Xboxs instead of cars.

I think it's a little naive for Kiffin to think he will be there in 2014

Yep. Lane Kiffin better worry more about winning games next season.

It's just like Eric Berry's 14 year old brother who already committed to UT.

To be fair, you work your wrists out more than most people work their calves.

He's 13. I'd just send him one of those USC cheerleaders.

If that were the case, I wouldn't have a zygote who we have just verbally committed to the Oregon Ducks program in 2028. It's only a verbal at this point, pending what gender it turns out to be.

My son isn't even born yet, hell I don't even have one in the works but he is going to commit to the Seminole's immediately after birth. Heck, I hope his first words are, "Daddy, I wanna play for FSU."

My son is gonna play for Notre Dame. I figure by then anybody will be able to suit up in an Irish uniform as long as they have good grades. (I get to joke because that's my favorite college team)

If recruiting wins football games then Notre Dame would have been a top 10 team the whole time Charlie Weis was there.

We don't do too bad for being such a small state.

I wonder which private Catholic school is going to get him though.

He's probably 15 or 16 pulling that old Dominican baseball player trick.

Hardly my favorite song, hardly even a new song. NFL network used it a long time ago.
