I think the Ravens would opt for Golden Tate instead of Benn.

Okay. That's six for Tate

25. Baltimore Ravens - Golden Tate, WR, Notre Dame

I don't think Price would get past the Cardinals. I'll go with Brian Price, DT, UCLA.

This would be a perfect situation for Tebow. He can compete with Leinart for the starting job, and prove to the naysayers that he can play QB in the NFL...

I could see Spikes going here. Dansby's future is a little uncertain and they need some defensive toughness. If Dansby stays, they could play together at ILB - Dansby is not a true Mike.

I really hope ESPN doesn't put Tebow in their "waiting booth" on draft day. That would be sad. I just can't believe any NFL team would take him before the third round, at best.

Yeah, I thought about upgrading Flozelle. Is he worth the headaches? I just think this spot is too high for Ducasse. I believe Robinson is more NFL ready than Ducasse is, by far. Actually, Jones would be my second pick behind Robinson. I just figure Robinson is the best value at this pick.

Navorro Bowman would be great value here for an area of need - LB. CB is also a need - so there are good possibilities at both positions.

I'll go Bowman.

Bowman is tiny for a 3-4 LB. I have no reservations they might want a LB, but I do not think they want an undersized Will for the 3-4.

Personally, I think they need to add to their DL. They were simply average once Jenkins went down and Rex had to scheme everything and blitz like there was no tomorrow to cover them. This is a great spot for Wooten, Griffen, or Ricky Sapp as a OLB.

SpringStein
02-03-2010, 06:16 PM
Med, you certainly know more than me - but when I've seen Navorro play when he hits a runner, they get no extra yardage. 230 isn't tiny imo - but I do think he has a high celing - and a low floor. In other words, boom or bust.

SpringStein

I don't think Childress wants to go back to a Sage/Tavaris led offense where, like Chris Carter said, he only gets to use half the playbook. He'll want a real, WCO QB. I think he'll take a shot on:

Do they resign Chester Taylor? He'd probably be pretty expensive for a 3rd down back, but he was a vital part of their offense.

Peterson's fumble problems reared their ugly head when it mattered most.

Kind of doubt they would spend a 1st rounder on a RB, but you never know.

I don't think Brett would care if they drafted McKoy and dealt Tavaris. If Brett does decide to play another year it would actually be a good thing for McKoy. IMO, he would fit best on a team that doesn't have to throw him out there right off the bat.

My thoughts in bold

Round 1
St. Louis (1-15) - Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska
Detroit (2-14) - Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma
Tampa Bay (3-13) - Eric Berry, S, Tennessee
Washington (4-12) - Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma State
Kansas City (4-12) - Rolando McClain, ILB, Alabama
Seattle (5-11) - Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma
Cleveland (5-11) - Joe Haden, CB, Florida
Oakland (5-11) - Anthony Davis, OT, Rutgers
Buffalo (6-10) - Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame
Jacksonville^ (7-9) - Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech
Denver - from Chicago^ (7-9) - Dan Williams, NT, Tennessee
Miami (7-9) - Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma State
San Francisco (8-8) - Earl Thomas, FS, Texas
Seattle - from Denver (8-8) - Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma this is actually the first pick that I dont like. Williams looks like a RT in the NFL, while SEA needs someone to replace Jones at LT
New York Giants (8-8) - Carlos Dunlap, DE, Florida I dont think Dunlap deserves to go in the 1st round, Brian Price or a Safety would be my pick
Tennessee^ (8-8) - Jason Pierre-Paul, DE, South Florida
San Francisco - from Carolina^ (8-8) - Mike Iupati, OG, Idaho
Pittsburgh (9-7) - Bryan Bulaga, OT, Iowa PIT have locked up their two starting OTs for the forseable future. I think a Safety or Spiller goes here
Atlanta^ (9-7) - Sergio Kindle, DE/OLB, Texas a 3-4 OLB going to a 4-3 team makes very little sense. They desperately need a DE and there is great value here
Houston^ (9-7) - CJ Spiller, RB, Clemson Slaton is still a stud IMO and Foster looks like a solid power back. I dont think they want to have 3 good RBs
Cincinnati* (10-6) - Taylor Mays, S, USC
New England* (10-6) - Jared Odrick, DE, Penn State one of the 3-4 OLBs remaining would be much better value here
Green Bay* (11-5) - Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland
Philadelphia* (11-5) - Sean Weatherspoon, OLB, Missouri
Baltimore* (9-7) - Golden Tate, WR, ND
Arizona* (10-6) - Brian Price, DT, UCLA not sure if he is a good fit as a 3-4 end and they already have two great DEs in Dockett and Campbell
Dallas* (11-5) - Vladimir Ducasse, OL, UMass
San Diego* (13-3) Jon Dwyer, RB, GT
New York Jets* (9-7) - Brandon Graham, OLB, Michigan such a steal
Minnesota* (12-4) - Perrish Cox, CB, Ok. St. I dont think CB is that big a need for them, I cant see them passing on Everson Griffen seeing as how Edwards will probably leave soon
New Orleans* (13-3)
Indianapolis* (14-2)

I run into this same argument every year. I call it the "Combine Argument" -The player's speed doesn't meet the position requirements on paper. And yet, he got four INTs against top 25 teams and took two INTs back for TDs. Seeing Spikes in games you can see that he makes up for in knowledge and instincts what he lacks in speed. Some guys just know where the ball is going. When you talk about speed you also have to include football smarts. Combine afficianadoes don't take that into account. It's why players like Jerry Rice got scouted as "too slow for the pro game."

I'm not talking about combine times. If you watch what he did UF, he never was asked to cover the deep middle like MLB needs to in Cover-2. He nice player, but I don't see him fitting into a Tampa-2 team.

He's probably more of a zone than a man backer, but I wouldn't put it past him to play in a Tampa 2. He's a smart player. Anyway, the Colts didn't get burned on the deep middle yesterday. They got burned on mid-range passes (between eight and twelve yards) right up the gut. Besides, they've got great safeties to take up any slack deep. IMO, Spikes would be the best value on the board for them here.

If there is one team that can afford to take a flyer on Mount Cody, it's the Saints.

Saints, Terrence Cody, DT, Alabama

Saints need safety, lb and line help.

Going Navorro Bowman to replace Scott Fujita who is Free Agent. Second choice is LSU safety Chad Jones.

Griffen. They need to be able to generate a pass rush without blitzing and Grant has not been getting the job done for a couple years now. Griffen is great value here.

If the Broncos follow Williams up with a solid G in the second, I think the team will have been improved by just those two picks. But a DE or C in the third would be super.....
