So, now apparently NYC is balking at trying Khalid Sheikh Muhammad and his merry band of Muslims so the White House is now quietly shopping the trials to anyone who will take them, apparently with a $200 million sweetener.

Seriously, has Obama not heard of e-Bay or Craigslist? That's how most of us get rid of our unwanted junk.

Of course, they could have just had nice quiet military tribunals at Gitmo followed by a swift execution but nooooooooooooooooo Obama and Eric Holder wanted a show trial so, hopefully, the ACLU could get rich defending the bastards and Amnesty International would have something good to say about the U.S. while the Bush Administration gets put on trial.

Supposedly, Chuckie Cheese Schumer got some bad polling data on how it would look for the Dems to conduct this abomination at the heart of Ground Zero so he told Mayor Bloomberg to get the trials out of NYC.

So, if you live in some small hamlet, hopefully with an Army base nearby, YOU can get in on the Obama (What? Me Stop Spending?) gravy train. Just think! There will be shovel-ready jobs - burying the corpses after the hangings. Of course, the sleeper cells may blow up your place during or after the trials but - hey! - you brought economic activity to your community and isn't that what it's all about??

One thing a smart President does is not say things that are impossible. He wanted to close Gitmo. He wanted nice quick easy civilian trials for these terrorists where they get smoothly convicted etc etc. The problem is that the plan was fraught with impossibilities of security, timing, practicality. Now he can't get prison closed, can't get trials going because of security risks etc etc.

Just makes him look like he had no idea how to implement any of his ideas.

The cases have already been compromised anyway. Obama and his fellow liberals claim this is all to "show the world how our system works" yet Obama and many public officials have stated many times in public to reporters these guys are guilty and will be convicted. This is really our system? For public officials to publicly state people are guilty even before the accused get a trial? That's our system? Since when? Obama is a lawyer and he obviously knows better, unless he's not as brilliant as his supporters claim of course. A defense lawyer could easily say his client can't get a fair trial anywhere in the U.S. when the president himself states guilt before a trial has even started. Which shows that this isn't really about showing how our system works, but pure politics, which has become the norm.
