That is easy, because like Reed, there will be a double standard applied to him. Having said that however, I dont think he should be fired for saying it. Real conservatives like me are ok with free speech, even stupid speech. There was a Progressive guy under FDR named David Cushman Coyle who said once: "Democracy needs more free speech, for even the speech of foolish people is valuable if it serves to guarantee the right of the wise to speak."
If Coyle would have just replaced Democracy with "A Republic" it would have been a perfect quote.
I will pass on the obvious comment and stick to the factual errors.
When exactly when did Obama propose tort reform? I seemed to have missed that. This guy really is on drugs.
The Dems didn't need a single Republican vote for the last 12 months to pass anything they wanted. Not a single vote. Not one single vote. How exactly can it be the Repubs holding up the agenda?

Exactly. I'm tired of hearing how the republicans are in the way of progress. We hear it all the time, and the stupid people of this country will believe it because they haven't a clue what is going on. The Dems have had all the power they can get the past year. They could pass whatever they want...but they can't even get along with eachother enough to do so.

Conservatives certainly are.
It's not as simple as Democrat or Republican. In reality it's representatives of the more rural and conservative states that are absolutely stonewalling congress.
The Democrat majority is hardly a majority at all. Those 'blue dog' democrats are wolves in sheeps clothing. They are anti-choice, anti-gun control, and anti-homosexual. They openly campaign on 'family values' and 'christian ideals'. They wholeheartedly support trickle down economics. They're essentially pro-union Republicans.
The biggest myth of the 2008 election cycle was that there was ever even the hint of a Democrat super-majority.
To top it off, Lieberman has gone completely rogue in the senate. He single-handedly killed meaningful healthcare reform.
Meanwhile Republicans have been operating in complete lockstep. They dare not vote their conscience instead sticking directly to party lines. Look at the sheer number of unanimous Republican votes in the Senate. That's not a functioning governing body, that's 40 white men who have completely 100% sold out the idea of governance to simply be a pain in the ass and stop our government from accomplishing anything... all because *gasp* Democrats might get some credit.

So Matthews should be banging on the blue dogs instead of the republicans.
Lets be perfectly clear, those bills are anything but meaningful healthcare reform. They are complete debacles. Legislative travesties devoid of any hope of producing the intended consequences.
If the congressmen voted their conscience on these bills there would not be a single vote for these trainwrecks. Complete progressive bull****.
Conservatives certainly are.

No, there are three parties R's D's and progressives. VERY few would call themselves progressives, if they knew what piggish tyrants the name Progressive describes. Progressives Wilson, FDR were rooted in domination and tyranny -- and will fight to get their way by evolving the Constitution (I say weakening it.) The battle is between true liberals who respect Liberty (probably more than conservatives) and progressives -- that 10% who are following the path of Alinsky, FDR and Wilson, who would arrest those they disagree with (if they could get away with it) are ok with lying and are only concerned with the ends and cannot and will not debate their ideas on their own merit, because as those ideas are exposed by light -- 90% of America will reject them.
Once folks know who Chevez and Che and Obama are they will reject them out-right -- and did (in Obama's case) recently in MASS. So what the Pres response to being rejected? Full speed ahead, executive orders, and more abuse and misrepresentation.
Obama is half white that is why. His blackness is clouded with the devils blood.
maybe Matt would agree with that statement?
For most Americans (the majority now) they dont mind him, or his personality -- but his policies are being exposed as un-American at worst -- and stupid at best.

There is really no way you can spin him out of this really stupid comment, actually a series of stupid comments.
And what do you mean might look like? Didn't we become post-racial 15 months ago when he was elected?
We actually became post-racial with the election of George Bush who had a very racially diverse cabinet.
Bushes cabinet had two black republican secretary of states (one also a women) as well as a black secretaries of education and of HUD, hispanic attorney general and secretaries of HUD and of commerce, asian secretaries of labor and of transportation, a lebanese secretary of energy, and for good measure women secretaries of interior, education, transportation,EPA, and of agriculture.
Of his 20 cabinet level positions 12 at some time in his administration were held by minorities or women.
You could go back even farther. Clinton also had a pretty diverse cabinet as well.

There's no message the righties won't try to twist, distort, or misrepresent in their efforts to put points on the scoreboard
(God knows they can't do it by pointing to their record.)

Liberals have been twisting anything and everything to show our country is racist and greedy, yet when you look at them, that's where you see most of the racism and greed. So the last people to talk.
