It doesn't exactly sound like pre-meditated murder. Sounds like they were fighting, and she used a tactic that put the guy down for good this time.

I don't know if she should've gotten a full sentence, but probation seems too light. It seems like manslaughter was designed with this sort of thing in mind.

Forcing her to diet and exercise should also be a part of the punishment. Take the bowl of Mac and Cheese away from her or she might kill again.

I just have a hard time believing that this woman intended to kill her husband. It's hard to judge, I guess. Glad someone else is in charge of that.
