Oakland wasn't the only AFC West team making coaching news Saturday night.

The Broncos announced the hiring of Bob Ligashesky as tight ends coach and Eric Studesville as running backs coach.

Ligashesky was most recently a special teams coach in Pittsburgh. Studesville has spent the last six years as a running backs coach in Buffalo.

The Broncos also moved some of their coaches to new positions.

Clancy Barone is now the offensive line coach, with Bob Wylie as assistant offensive line coach. Ben McDaniels was promoted to quarterbacks coach. Mike McCoy will remain the team's offensive coordinator, but gave up quarterbacks coaching duties.

Clarence Barone (born July 26, 1963 in San Andreas, California), commonly known as Clancy, is the Offensive Line Coach for the National Football League's Denver Broncos.Prior to being named the Offensive Line Coach for the Broncos, he served as the Broncos Tight Ends Coach. He also has served as offensive line and tight ends coach for the Atlanta Falcons as well as tight ends coach for the San Diego Chargers.
Prior to coaching the Falcons, Barone had coached offensive lines at seven different colleges for 18 years. Barone coached five Outland Trophy semifinalists and three Rimington Trophy semifinalists. The NFL drafted 27 of the players he coached in college football.
As a coach in the National Football League he has coached in the NFC Championship Game, The AFC Championship Game, two Pro Bowl Games (once as an Offensive Line Coach and once as the Tight Ends Coach) and has been instrumental in the development of two of the top tight ends to ever play in the NFL: Alge Crumpler of the Atlanta Falcons and Antonio Gates of the San Diego Chargers. Barone is considered, by his peers and players, to be one of the best Tight End coaches in the National Football League.
Barone is a highly souht after "Motivational/Life Coach" speaker and spends his free time in the off-season as a speaker for corporations and private groups, often speaking on team building or how to achieve in every day life to be your best. He coined the phrase "Take care of the Dash."[citation needed]

Tell me why you think so.

I think with the proper interior line for McDaniels' scheme (bigger guys like Hochstein only obviously more talented) and this guy's teachings (look what he did with Fred Jackson, etc), Knowshon could be very impressive.

New Broncos coach Josh McDaniels continued to fill out his staff Wednesday, adding younger brother Ben McDaniels and Jay Rodgers as assistant coaches. Ben McDaniels, 28, will coach his first season in the NFL after he was in charge of quarterbacks at Massillon Jackson High School in Ohio last year. He played quarterback at Kent State from 1999-2001.

I really like the hire of Studesville.

He's worked with McGahee, Lynch, and Jackson and made all 3 running backs into 1,000 yard rushers despite average (or inexperienced in 2009) offensive lines.

From 2004-2009, he's had a 1,000 yard rusher in 5 of those 6 seasons (the 1 non-season still had 990 yards).

Sounds like good news. Need to read up on the other guys, but very happy about Studesville.

same here, McDaniels did a damn fine job of replacing Turner. Studeville has his own rep of turning backs into stars, and with Moreno having a similar skillset to Tiki who Studesville worked with and made into an elite back makes me very happy to have him as our new RB coach.

On paper the Studesville hiring looks to be a good one.
Not sure how good he is in comparison to Turner, unless turner has already been thrown under the bus here by the McD' supporters.
That being said, to think Moreno is going to be a different "animal" because of it, is a bit far-fetched.
Moreno just doesn't have the ability to play at the level he needs to play to be successful in the NFL
You can't teach speed and cutting abilities.
He can be coached in some areas that can improve his game, but don't expect the super stud RB people here have been waiting for since day one...

Weren't the Steelers special teams the worst part of the team this year? Not that that means all that much. Is he Polish?

It's probably good that he's coaching the tight ends, then...ROFL!

Until the OL gets fixed, mainly the interior, it won't matter who the RB or RB coach is. Too often our RB's are getting hit as soon as they touch the ball and short yardage situations, not able to convert too often.
