If it wasn't such a ****ty country before the earthquake, they wouldn't be in such bad shape now. They have no capability to employ all their citizens, they've shown corruption strikes anytime they see the opportunity, and they're all addicted to the welfare that is international aid.

Maybe natural disaster would've helped keep their population in check and not made the problem worse?

The old "give a man a fish..." saying applies here. If there's nowhere for them to fish, what do you do? Continue to give them fish for the rest of eternity or tell them to move?

Radiohead is doing a benefit concert in LA tonight or tomorrow. They basically auctioned off every single ticket. I wonder how much the cheapest one went for.

This earthquake although horrid for the current Haitians probably makes the country better off in the long run.

How many of those buildings worth a crap before earthquake? Maybe 30%? Now Haiti will get more money then they could raise through taxes in 10 yrs. Maybe they can build a few more big hotels on the beaches they have to draw in some tourism.
