View Full Version : The Arguing is Pointless

There are stats and ideas to defend the McD haters and McD supporters. Both sides have cases which are valid. However, neither is completely correct.

Sure we collapsed at the end, we have before, and eventually we probably will again.

It's frustrating, but we wern't winning the Superbowl anyway guys.

Lets put down the guns :peace:

Not going to happen... There are way to many people on both sides of this fence that are much more interested in drawing lines in the sand than anything else.

discussing football at some point without the "mcdouche" etc comments would be nice. not that it would ever happen here. as soon as mcd doesnt draft the player bpc thinks he should draft (with his expert draft analysis) wait for it to start all over, same with FA. every ****ing post he will turn into why mcd is an idiot retard penisface and everyone else is an apologist homer who needs to turn the blinders off.

When are the important dates: Owners Meeting, FA begins, Scouting Combine, Draft, "Voluntary" OTA's.

A comedy thread. Page 9 Blue, mock et al start going at it with Popps and Broncocali. It's the way of the Mane these days. McDaniels will be torn apart for his FA signings, for whomever he drafts etc.

Edit as bpc was not involved!

Feb. 24-March 2 -- NFL Scouting Combine, Indianapolis, Ind.

March 5 -- Free agency begins.

March 21-24 -- NFL Annual Meeting, Orlando, Florida.

April 22-24 -- NFL Draft, New York City.

May 24-26 -- NFL Spring Meeting, Dallas, Texas

We've got 3 months to speculate.

The week after the superbowl the can start designating franchise players

That's not true. I didn't want McD to draft Ayers OR Knowshon but I've supported both of them. I think Ayers will be a good player in the future, and I think Knowshon is going to be a Sammie Winder type.

Listen, I'm not snorting the blow you are. You've just got to call it like it is sometimes and be true with the situation.

Personally, i hope Knowshon turns into the next LT. If he could add about .3 seconds on his 40, maybe he could.

if he adds .3 to his 40 hes chris johnson fast, cool guy. you "calling it like it is" is a joke. you say you are unbiased, 20 people laugh at you for saying that, at some point will you realize that when everybody tells you you are wrong, that you might actually be wrong?

Among them: Teams gain a franchise or transition tag. It takes a player six years, not four, to get to free agency. The top eight teams are restricted and can’t add a free agent until they lose one.
I had never seen this before. if you play this week you can't add a free agent until you lose a free agent? Wow..interesting.

I haven't seen any guarantees of Superbowl wins by the supporters around here.

I have seen a lot of guarantees of failure and purposely inflated first year expectations by the detractors.

Point being, I think those of us that want to give this thing a chance are spewing less rhetoric than those deeming our entire draft class a bust at the end of season one.

I'll remain confident an optimistic until such time that we've seen a long enough sample time that indicates otherwise. There's no rational reason for anyone to assume that this team is winning a SB next year, or that we'll be terrible. It's a work in progress and as a fan, I'll err on the optimistic side until I've got an overwhelming amount of evidence to the contrary.

Technically if he "added" .3 to his 40 he would be Kyle Orton fast... I don't think that would help.

Well then it's a good thing we didn't finish in the top 8 this year. Another genius move by McDaniels.

I think having two sides of the argument fun for a message board. Well yes it does suck and I'm mad too but, the reality is weak line issues will cause ALL teams to lose games they shouldn't even at home. It will take McD Cowher or whoever a few seasons to fix the problem. I'll just be glad if McD at least makes a huge effort to upgrade their lines.

The whole McD hate is a drag because no matter what he does it sucks. This team has tons of issues to be ressolved. He destroyed a decent offense but, never confuse it with Indy NO SD Ari type O's it wasn't that good or scary. Denver's O needs speed I hope he goes that route soon.

As a full supporter of McD's I haven't liked everything he's done either. The trade of our pick was stupid esp with a team like ours that is weak all over. I think he should have waited to see what he really had hands on this year and give his new staff a year to settle in before making trades. I expect a very interesting offseason this year as well. Matt R wasn't here last draft.

fo sho. i still dont like the alphonso trade either, especially when it was admittedly a hurried draft preparation period.

there is not a ton of decisions like this, and you act like only mcdaniels makes decisions like this. its easy to see WHY he made the trade, he was a very highly rated corner who had teh best ball hawk abilities in college. hasnt translated yet, if it does it could end up being a very good trade.

I hate the trade because of the talent in this draft
I hate the trade because of our lines and front 7 is weak we could have strengthened both areas
I hope he turns into a player to soften the blow of this
I thought McD's plan would be to stockpile picks with Cutler not give them away.

Overall I like what McD is doing and willing to see what happens. Wait til we trade Doom this place will go nuts. I think asking price will be too steep for Denver and he will be moved.

The arguing helps the team win games, douchebag. Go be a Redskins fan if you think otherwise.

Orton is a rookie as well... he will learn, I think. I was all over Orton for his early-season blundering. But I think he has a fine football mind, and can make things happen. He needs to learn how to handle personnel much better though. However, I think Orton is a total bust.

Our offense is calling horrible plays? Hardly, it's very limited by a QB with very limited abilities. Lack of scrambling, vision, accuracy, and the "get it done" factor is never going to win us a SB.

Peter King was pretty spot on by saying: “Orton has proven this year he’s a borderline starter, not a player a team can build a long future around.”

So the Broncos, despite liking a player such as Smith, should have decided, "you know, next years draft is better, so let's wait and hope we can find a CB we like even better." Yes, the kind of decisions that get people fired. Drafting players who don't pan out on defense, Shanahan was the master, and that ultimately leads to firings too, but not going for a player you really like for a reason like that is done by amateur types. Already, some "fans" are calling Moreno and Ayers busts after one season, but they are mad the Broncos don't have that extra pick to take what, another bust which they will state even before the guy puts on a uniform? Makes sense.
