But it's ok for liberals since Billy agreed with their agendas, so racist comments are tolerated when done by democrats. Democrats seen as a liability, then they suddenly care about it. Phonies.

Ha ha ha!
Somehow, in the twisted logic republi-cons, if you acknowledge or point out the existence of racism, then you are a racist.

how is reids comment incorrect? Ive yet to hear anyone contradict that a lighter skin black man might have a better chance of being elected. ive yet to hear anyone contradict that a black man that speaks articulately might have a better chance of being elected. Anyone? The pussies on the right just scream "racist" and "double standards" and try to play the victim card. There was a poll done before the election and 15% of repubs said they weren't voting for obama because of race.Don't like to see that there is still racism in the US? Neither do I but that's how it is right now. All you yahoos that don't think that palin was chosen because of her gender are fooling yourselves.where's the uproar over that?

Subject: Double standard for Democrats? Not a problem for me
The Republicans are making a big deal about what Harry Reid said about race. Republicans claim that there is a double standard claiming that some people are a lot more forgiving when a Democrat makes a racist sounding comment than Republicans get. I don't have a problem with the double standard. Republicans have worked hard to disenfranchise blacks while Democrats have worked hard to empower blacks. Harry Reid has a strong record to fall back on. So if an old Democrat uses the word "negro" it's not that big of a deal. I am amused however because the more of a big deal Republicans make of Harry Reid's comments the less likely they are going to be able to get rid of their incompetent party leader Michael Steele. Democrats look forward to taking on the GOP this year with Steele in charge.

No doubt Obama's non-street dialect allowed him to have a chance. It's totally true what Reid said that's what makes it funny. I thought liberals were supposed to have a good sense of humor?
The right isn't saying it's racist because it's racist. They are saying it's a joke how a white guy muddles anything close to that he can sometimes be branded a racist. Other times though, if its the right white person, it's not a big deal.
That's all that is being made fun of. No one really thinks Reid is a racist. You are missing the whole point.
It's just a tit for tat political show nothing more. Now it forces Obama out to Nevada to stump for Reid which is probably the plan all along.
The strategy was probably more to make Obama step up for Reid. Reid could lose bad anyways, then repubs can say even Obama can't save his leader in the Senate.
It's not about racism.

When will the mainstream finally come around?--'RACISM' exists ONLY as a political tool and not in practical form any longer...not by any large entity that would otherwise be capable of disrupting quality of life for minorities (IE--segregated schools, colored only restrooms)
In fact, we have gone so far as a society as to make EXCEPTIONS based soley on the fact that a person happens to be minority or female. See Affirmative Action and the University of Michigan Law school case......
RACISM IS A POLITICAL SLEDGE HAMMER & NOTHING MORE.
