Ok....I just got done looking at the first 4 mock drafts that I googled......and ALL of them had us taking Rolando McLain.....I'm definitely cool with that.

My one question is that all of these drafts also had us picking at #9....not sure why. I was under the impression that we are 10 or 11.

Anyway.....

We were projected at #7 a while back, looks like 10 or 11 now.

It's 10 or 11... depending on a coin flip.

The mocks are just out of date at this point.

That's what I figured until one of them said it was updated on Monday, Jan 4th.

Meh, no matter.

Unless something happens Mcclain will be the consensus pick in a lot of mocks this offseason, at least until after the combine, senior bowl and pro days when the boards get closer to their final shapes.

Brandon Spikes has dropped quite a bit this year...he looks like he needs to drop a few lbs.

He's got this bowlegged thing going on. I think a bunch of scouts question his athletic ability moving to the next level.

I think what he's going to be in one of those guys that slides due to numbers but is still a heck of a player on the next level. He has great instincts during the games I watched him.

Actually, not a bad mock draft for us. In fact, I wouldn't mind one damn single bit if it came out this way. I love McClain and Williams both and my favorite Center in the draft is Walton. Never heard of that WR but with the other 3 guys there, F yeah I would take this draft in a heart beat.

Round 1 - Rolando McClain - Alabama (HT: 6'4" | WT: 258) ILB
Round 2 - Dan Williams - Tennessee (HT: 6'2" | WT: 327) DT
Round 3 - Jordan Shipley - Texas (HT: 5'11" | WT: 185) WR
Round 4 - J.D. Walton - Baylor (HT: 6'3" | WT: 305) C

Yep....then hopefully we fill our LG spot with Logan Mankins....our O-line will look much better.

Any pick that improves our ability to run the ball and stop the run, I'm down.

If we get rid of Marshall, however, we'll need a playmaker.

Yep....and since I'm not keen on spending a high draft pick to build the interior OL.....Mankins has to be a key FA target.....that would help our run game tremendously.

That four rounder is pretty solid for the Broncos. It'll be interesting to see if we'll have an additional slate of picks from our RFA's or perhaps trades from Marshall, Scheffler, etc.

Exactly......maybe get Bryant or Benn in round 1 and then Spikes or Micah Johnson in round 2. Or get McClain in round 1 and go after D. Thomas from GT in round 2.

What happened to Selvie from South Florida? Wasn't he supposed to be a 1st rounder going into this season?

Shipley is a good slot receiver and has deceptive speed and can contribute on special teams. Kind of reminds me of eddie mac.

I'm about 50/50 on thinking that Baltimore will snag Marshall and pay his RFA price of a 1st and a 3rd. If so here is what I'm hoping will happen with our first three rounds of picks:

1A - Gerald McCoy, Rolando McClain, Eric Berry. Any one of those three available and we're set. McCoy is the ideal though.

1B - Dez Bryant, Mike Iupati, Dan Williams, Terrance Cody. Iupati would be my preferred choice. Bryant fits great with this pick since it would be coming through losing Marshall, and give them a better fit for the #1 in McDaniels' system that will let Royal move to the slot role he should be in. If neither one of those guys could be had then Williams or Cody would both give you a valuable 1st and 2nd down run stuffing NT to rotate with Fields.

2 - Jared Odrick, Brandon Spikes, Perrish Cox. I think Odrick could convert to a 3-4 strongside end pretty well, primarily as a 1st and 2nd down plugger. If McClain comes out but goes before us or McCoy slides too us instead Spikes could be a great consolation prize in the 2nd round, even if it required a small trade up. Perrish Cox isn't a bad fall back, giving us more youth in the secondary and providing a good return option.

3A/3B - Corey Wootton, Jon Asamoah, Sean Canfield, Matt Tennant, Danario Alexander, Brandon Graham. Ideal world I'd like to get Matt Tennant here, BC centers have worked out well for us in the past. Then BPA alternatives for whatever spot from WR, DE, OG we missed out on before. If Brandon Graham slides here he wouldn't be a bad pickup to develop into a rotational guy for Doom and Ayers.

Perfect Draft Scenario for 1-3:
1A - Gerald McCoy
1B - Mike Iupati
2 - Brandon Spikes
3A - Matt Tennant
3B - Danario Alexander

He didn't really show up this year like he did in 08, same goes with USF as a whole i guess.

McClain is my top choice...Tonights game showed me all I wanted to see. Great instincts, can play 3 downs..Should be a great impact player as a rookie.

Thought I would post up some of the top mock drafts and see what they were giving us in round 1.

Here's are a few of the names

McClain X3
Mays
McCoy
Berry

One site didn't even give us a first round pick, what's up with that?
