Popps,

its not often that a player interrupts an interview like that...plus he didnt even look at Marshall...just kinda gave him a weird "good job man" pat on the chest

You're not making it up. It's not comfortable. Look at Marshall's eyes. He almost looks scared, or embarrassed. He diverts his eyes downward to the ground.

Who does that when greeting someone?

it wasnt really the chest pat that got me....Marshall's face afterwards is VERY uncomfortable....he shifts in his stance, looks at the ground and doesnt really know what to say....if it was friendly, he would have definitely said something back or patted him on the back or something

man, i really want to know who that was....I have a feeling if it was Dawkins it would have been 10X more uncomfortable...and Dawkins is already working out and studying film for next year, so it couldnt be him

That's exactly what it was. I know the drama queens want to read more into this then there is but to me, that's exactly what it looks like. I did not see Marshall looking scared or any different then he did for the first part of the interview. The entire interview was somewhat subdued and low key. The same dude that was behind him for the first part of the interview was the same guy who came in later and said excuse me, they were standing in his way for him to get in front of his locker again.

Okay, both Rtribbey and TJ have it. The guy asked him to move politely and jokingly in the way TJ described. I think you guys are making more of this than is actually there. I think Marshall isn't that good in interviews anyway, I don't think the player tapping his chest was the issue, other than it briefly derailed his train of thought. (also mentioned by TJ and I concur with that).

I am a girl and if you ask uh Oskie, or the poster formerly known as Oskie, he will tell you I overanalyze everything. However, there was nothing to see here. Marshall interviews poorly as do most NFL players actually.

I'm sorry, but Mr Ty I-Only-Care-About-Paychecks Law is the last person that should be chastising Brandon.

The players support going for the money. It's faking the injury and dropping the balls, not giving effort that looks to be what has pissed them off. Who knows we aren't on the team.

At some point you will either believe Marshall or the team. Marshall IMO is very non-genuine. He just gives the impression through actions and words that he is untrustworthy.

Like I said no team will give us a 1st and 3rd for him.

Doesn't matter what player it was. Any player doing that shows you how the teams feels about him. Everyone knows he intentional dogged it. IMO we will never get a 1 and 3rd foe him. Marshall will go into rfa and get no offers if Broncos tender the 1st and 3rd. Name one team stupid enough to give Marshal a huge deal and Broncos a 1st and a 3rd?

Maybe Shanny in DC but I doubt it.

No one said it was going to be easy to leave McDaniel's gulag system. But ya gotta persevere and not give up.

Back, and to the left... back, and to the left... back, and to the left.

Hahahaha, lMAO.

OMG so many people here are worse then 8th grade girls. Totally over analyzing something until it fits your perception.

Anybody stop to think for a second that the locker room would not be a happy place to begin with because they just got spanked. What was LAW supposed to do, give BM a big kiss? Nobody in the locker room would have been or should have been all smiles and in a good mood. Homie is NOT a condescending name as somebody said. It's just the opposite, it's an endearing name you fool.

And even if Law doesn't like BM, who the F cares. He's old and washed up and probably won't be here next year.

You kidding me? This thread is friggin' awesome, right or not.

It's hysterical that anyone would try to play this down.

It's not a big deal, but it's very distinctly obvious it was uncomfortable.

The biggest Brandon Marshall fan on earth shouldn't have any doubts that this was uncomfortable. Give me a break.

At this point, it's a pretty simple division. You either side with and believe Brandon, or you believe the the rest of the players in the locker room.

Anyone seen any players come out in Brandon's defense, yet?

Totally over analyzing something until it fits your perception.

Actually, to be honest... I read the original thread title and OP to mean... "Brandon looked uncomfortable in this interview, but then someone came along and sincerely patted him on the back."

I thought the question was... who is the guy giving props to Brandon in the video.

So, when I first watched it, I was looking for friendly transaction between Brandon and someone who you couldn't see in the frame.

Then I watched it, and it was glaringly and blatantly obvious that whoever it was, was no friend... and the transaction wasn't friendly.

Again, not a huge deal... but it is what it is.

Fair enough.

But, I meant... really came out to his defense, as in... against McDaniels and the vets, making it clear that Marshall had been wronged.

I'll take a shot:

"Your post was excellent - one of the finest I've encountered. Ty Law is not the player he once was; and he seems to be only interested in financial gain. He is aware of his limitations, and does not look to join teams with a long-term plan. He is worried that Brandon Marshall's departure will likely coincide with his own departure, and this is of grave concern to him. He is neither courageous, nor admirable. Perhaps he was sent over by Coach McDaniels to try and antagonize Brandon Marshall. If this is the case, the plan was not successful. Brandon Marshall could have physically enforced his will on Ty Law, had he wished. This is something about which Brandon Marshall is to be admired. He resisted the urge to respond to a possible manipulation by Coach McDaniels and Ty Law."

Whether it was a friendly exchange or not, it doesn't really matter because this season is over and the two players will most likely not be teammates next year. I hate losing as much as the next person does... but I can't lay yesterday's loss on Marshall('s absence) when the defense gave up 259 rushing yards and two touchdowns to Jamaal Charles... and our own passing game went for more than 400 yards (but gave the Chefs 14 more "gift" points).

The bottom line is that I hope next year will be better and that we will get good value for Marshall when the seemingly-inevitable trade happens.

I'm not gonna waste time fretting, worrying, or speculating about whether or not the locker room likes a guy who's probably out of here no matter what else happens this offseason anyway. What will be, will be and nothing we say or do will change anything.

Wow. This thread is one big epic fail.

1) I highly doubt Brandon Marshall is scared of anybody on the team, save some lineman. He is 6'5" 235 lbs. and quick. Without a doubt, B-Marsh is not scared of Ty Law. By all estimates, he would work over Ty Law in a fight.

2) "Excuse me, excuse me, homie." These are not fighting words. Whoever said "homie" had a condescending connotation is way out of touch and fails. Clearly, the interview was in front of someone's locker and they were simply going back to their locker. It looks to be Ty Law.

3) He looks down and shifts his feet. Uh, maybe I'm mistaken, but does he not have cameras in his face and is in the middle of an interview? Was he not just interrupted from said interview? Clearly, he lost his train of thought [because of the interruption].

I like McD's response to whether he'd take a step backwards to take two steps forward. In a nutshell it was, "No, I don't want to do that. That's not what Pat Bowlen wants, and that's not what his veteran players want." We will retool and compete again next year. And, I'm betting that we'll be a much improved team.

I will say this, in hindsight it was extremely stupid to trade a draft pick (a high one at that) in this year's class when they had a short time to prepare for the draft last year. This class, according to McD, will be very different as they've had a lot more time to prepare. A draftboard was started in December which is a three month head start compared to last year. Given those facts, it was extremely irresponsible to give up a high pick for a player like Alphonso Smith. I think he regrets that.

Bullshiat. It wasn't a friendly exchange and BMarsh wasn't comfortable or his usual smiling self.

The whole interview was uncomfortable because he got benched yesterday. What does he have to smile about?

It wasn't an exchange. It was a "Hey, you're in front of my locker. Excuse me." So they aren't best friends and didn't embrace during said exchange? Big fn deal.

It doesn't even matter. Brandon in all likelihood is a goner. And I don't even care. Gaffney played like a G yesterday [not saying he is the future, but he did about as much as Brandon could have done], and there are 3 or 4 stud WRs in the draft I'd like to see us grab.

Wow. This thread is one big epic fail.

1) I highly doubt Brandon Marshall is scared of anybody on the team, save some lineman. He is 6'5" 235 lbs. and quick. Without a doubt, B-Marsh is not scared of Ty Law. By all estimates, he would work over Ty Law in a fight..

I don't know.... I'm not sure Brandy takes a swing at anyone unless they're wearing lipstick.

Fail.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=homie

With the tone of voice, quadruple pat on the chest and intentional interruption of the interview, you're all around wrong. Even worse is your suggestion that "homie" was used positively there. People don't use that word anymore as a greeting for someone. I assume you missed the fact that the #1 definition of "homie" on Urbandictionary was written in 2002?
If I came up to you, called you bro and patted you on the chest before shouldering you out of the way would you take that well? No. Why? Because it's not 2002 and people don't say "homie" or "bro" positively anymore

Why can't he assume that if the negative nancies on this board seem to think that Marshall = the team, or Cutler = the team?

Show me where any "negative nancies" referred to either Marshall or Cutler as "the team".

He can certainly speculate that an imagined hostility on the part of one player indicates a general hostility on the part of the entire team if that's the viewpoint he's looking to support. But it's a huge reach and more than just a few of us recognize that and will make fun of... ridicule... the conclusion he's jumped to.

4) You people are seriously drama queens. Y'all suck. It's embarrassing indeed.

I just threw the urbandictionary in there for the hell of it. I know plenty of people who use the term. Maybe had he said "douchebag" or "a$shole" or "punk," you would have an argument. Otherwise, he was just saying excuse me and added a commonly used word to it.

I suppose you think he should have said "Mr. Marshall."

Geezus, I can't believe I'm stooping to all of you people's stupidity and actually debating the particulars of this. Ty was just trying to get to his locker, Marshall lost his train of thought. End of story. I suppose it is the off-season and you don't have much else to talk about....but the level of drama some of you are showing in this thread is just silly.

That's another small point. He clearly gives him a shoulder on his way to the locker.

Obviously this exchange isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things. But I want a locker room where you dog it and you get cast out. I think this video shows BM is uncomfortable in the locker room after his post probowl antics and he should be.

Law isn't a veteran team mate! He's what you call an old used up Football player who was brought in by McD to be his yes man. Ole Law was sitting home on his couch "Passing Gas" hoping some HC that needed a Stoole would give him a call....and slick ass McD gave the hack a call and invited to be a Bronco.

As a Denver Bronco, Ty Law's on-the-field performance absolutely does not warrant any sort of questioning of the heart of another player who has done far, far more for the team. I mean, really... are we buying the idea that a player (a noobie to the team and basically a mercenary) who played in 7 games, starting only 2... had 9 tackles and 1 assist; 1 pass defensed and 1 interception thinks he has the "credibility" to chide the #1 WR who's been with the team 4 full seasons; playing in 61 games, starting 45; caught 327 passes for 4,019 yards and 25 touchdowns. It's downright ludicrous to think that Law could possibly have a higher standing with the team than Marshall, regardless of Marshall's "doghouse" status. The only place where Law might possibly have an "edge" over Marshall is in "closeness to McDaniels" and that has little to nothing to do with this year.

Not from what i saw. I saw a guy just trying to get to his locker after working with the team while another guy was trying to put a PR spin on his actions as of late.

I think Law has a far more clear understanding of the team concept than Brandon does and thus, i think he was reminding Brandon there while he was getting his 30 seconds of face time.

Law and his 10 tackles hasn't earned the right to second-guess any established Bronco. Champ.. yes. Even though he's a first-year (with the Broncos) guy, Dawkins... yes. (guys who contributed on the field). Ty Law... no.

ty law also has an edge in career credentials, professionalism, super bowl rings, and veteran leadership with other teams.

Corrected for accuracy.

The wording of this suggests that Marshall was the one who sought the media; not the other way around. Do we know this for a fact? It's not unheard of for a reporter to seek out a star player especially when controversy has recently broken out between that player and the coach... and the coach has announced the existence of the issues via the media.

Blue,

I don't think he was second-guessing him... so much as telling him to get his punk ass out of the way before he got clocked.

Meh! outta be glad Brandon didn't whoop his ass. By the way how many interviews did Tie Law do over the course of the season?:sunshine:

In the locker room, post being made inactive after vets complained about attitude??

None! ;D

Ty Law doesn't command the respect of the younger players b/c they know McD brought him in to spy on them.

Yeah, well. Brandon Marshall was far more valuable to the '09 Broncos than 10-tackle-Ty was.

Jesus, you really do just hate everything and everyone that was ever associated with the Pats don't you.

I saw a guy who all he had to do politely and w/o bringing attention to himself by patting BMarsh and just excuse me I've need to get access to my locker. And the interviewer and Brandon would have simply accommodated Law and gave him access while continuing the interview.

But no the attention whore Law had to add his antics and to say look at me!

I just think Ten-Tackle-Ty is old and over the hill. And that his performance as a Bronco was less than impressive. He's coasting by on past accomplishments and should have retired a season or so ago. Like LaMont Jordan, he's a waste of a roster slot, IMHO. Your mileage may vary though (you're totally free to think otherwise and I don't care or feel threatened...or that my take becomes less valid... in any way by that).

Right, but that's not what the thread was about... and Law actually served a decent purpose for us for a guy we picked up off the street.

We're not talking about that, though. We're talking about Law telling Marshall to move out of the way, and Marshall looking like a frightened child.

What is the ghost of Ty Law going to do? Take possession of Marshall and beat him up that way? Who is scared of a guy that can't cover his own shadow?

I'm sorry, but if you're a football player and an NFL team calls you up and wants you to play, you go play, unless you are just physically unable to do so anymore or just no longer want to play. Law is a veteran of the NFL. It doesn't matter if he was just a part of the Broncos for a few weeks or an entire season. He has been there and done that in the NFL. Just because his production wasn't the same as Marshall, doesn't mean marshall knows more or is a better football player. Marshall has a long way to go before he can say he's had a better career than Ty Law.

Ah so you believe he should have confronted a team-mate of his and started a fight then with the reporters right there interviewing him? What type of action should Marshall have taken there so we are all clear on what type of player you want Marshall to be?

Actually, considering his past , maybe he should have or would have....

Of course this year he is all about the CONTRACT.

And getting in a locker room fight on TV mught have screwed that up...8 game suspension and all looming .

I never saw the video...link was dead...so I don't know what it really showed (no this is not an invitation for someone to give me their impression of what BM did and how scared he was (or wasn't)).

We lost and all I know is BM didn't want to try and HELP his team make the playoffs, even though he might have been able to if he WANTED to.. so I know that HE is NOT a BRONCO fan!

Know what? The Broncos' medical staff hasn't been totally flawless in their dealings with Marshall in the past. It's his health and his future at stake and I don't blame him a bit if he is cautious regarding a hamstring injury. And Ty Law hasn't just "lost a step".... his numbers for the season are pathetic and embarrassing for a guy who used to play at a high level. I don't blame him for taking a free payday, but to imply it was anything more than that (that he was worth the money or the roster slot) is a huge reach.

And we're talking about the Broncos franchise... who cares about Law's numbers for another team? I don't. He made ten tackles and one interception. Yeah... there's a real superstar for you. Better re-sign him with a pay raise like tomorrow. ::)

What's it to you if I do hate the Patriots? This ain't a Patriots fan forum, y'know.... the Patriots play in the AFC, which means they are conference rivals to the Broncos. So tell me again why Broncos fans are apparently required to worship the Patriots... on a Broncos forum. And why they're hassled if they don't.
