#5 and 7 are of particular interest to me.

why number 5?

Probably because she thinks we could have taken Reed over Lelie and had an elite safety that she longed for since Jesus was nailed to the cross.

People are going to whine about taking Ashley over Reed.

I said it was a dumb move at the time and executed a computer because of the Lelie selection. It was as dumb as anything could get.

Manning #1, Brady #2, no surprises so far..., Gonzo #3?

and guess who the pick would have been if Lelie wasn't there? Javon

Reed was not a target that year, get over it.

I still don't get that. Rod Smith was great in 2001. Billy Jenkins flat out sucked. Batted more balls down with his helmet. Still in getting over it mode.

Gonzo @ 3?

That's a stretch IMO

Ed Reed is not, was not, and never will be a better player than Troy Polamalu. He's waaaay outclassed on this list and doesnt deserve to be anywhere near it.

Gonzalez deserves to be on the list, but not #3.

Warner deserves to be higher.

Adam Vinatieri? Seriously? A kicker? That's just wrong.

Hillis gets screwed on every list I've seen so far this year.

The only reason #5 is of interest to me is because he hardly deserves to be above anybody on that list apart from Vinatieri and Roethlisberger.

Being the best kicker of the decade is like being the best chess player in your high school. Who cares? there are 200 players that are above the best kicker. Putting a kicker on the list makes the list irrelevant.

Unless he boots two Super Bowl winning kicks. You never appreciate a kicker until you need them.

Especially since Denver had a shot at every player on there. I am still pissed we didn't trade a bunch of picks for Manning and pissed we passed on Brady.

Everybody pass on Brady he was a 6th round pick.

Smith was awesome. McCaffrey snapped his leg. Our WR depth was pathetic. At one point Kevin Kasper was starting...ugh...nightmares...Our leading receivers in 2001 were Smith(113), Desmond Clark(51), Dwayne Carswell(34), Patrick Hape(15), TD(12), Scottie Montgomery(11)...

I know there is no reason bitching about Reed as there have been much better players that we have passed on. The only one I have ever been upset about is taking DJ over Steven Jackson. Traded one of the best RB's in the league and had the perfect chance to replace him and took a LB who is solid but not a difference maker and getting a legit RB since has been a chore.

Hard to to trade up to the #1 pick when you just won the Super Bowl. Trevor Pryce is who we ended up with. Turned out very good for us.

I will agree with everything you just said. It is true. I still have a problem with John Mobley over Ray Lewis. Our pick at 15 Mobley. Ray Lewis at 26.

Trading Pryce, next years pick Nash, and a couple other picks would of been well worth it. Teams wouldn't do that coming off a Superbowl but it is an option if they want.

I'll agree with that, except that we passed on Reed for total garbage and safety has been a need since Atwater left. At least DJ has contributed. That was my one big complaint with Shanahan, he never realized you needed a defense as well as an offense, except once, Champ.

I'm not sure about big ben being on an all decade list. He came into the league in 2005?
