Yesterday's game stunk... as did watching the Colts give away an undefeated season to the Jets while ahead 15-10 by pulling their starters.

However we can take solace in the fact that Jay Cutler has been a pile of dog **** on prime time this year.

A loss by the Bears drops them to 5-10, and only serves to help our draft pick.

The Vikings now NEED to win this game too so they can get a 1st round bye, so they won't be resting their starters.

Kickoff is in 3 1/2 hours.

Vikings win this game also in impacts the Patriots and they have to play all their starters and win against the Houston Texans in order to clinch the third spot, however that might leave us hurting because than the Bengals won't have anything to play for really because the 4th spot is theirs and they can't get the 3rd spot. But do you honestly think Bengals will rest their starters on national TV for a sunday nighter?

thats what I heard tho .......this stuff makes my head hurt.

so just remember if this is true than Chicago winning wouldn't be all bad for us sure one less draft spot but it could mean playoffs damn playoff stuff is so confusing.

I am not really sure but heres the quote I read below off PFT

like I said its confusing I might be reading it wrong and having the wrong understanding. Maybe you can get something better out of it.

Ill admit if I wrong which I might be.

Patriots don't necessarily clinch third seed with win

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on December 28, 2009 4:04 PM ET
As we finish our look at all the playoff scenarios -- here's a handy page if you missed anything -- we wanted to clear up one misconception.

We've heard a number of outlets say the Patriots clinch the third seed with a victory over the Texans Sunday. That's not true.

The Patriots are currently third over the Bengals due to an edge in strength of victory. That's the tiebreaker used after conference record and common games. If the Bengals and Patriots both lose or both win Sunday, the tie would again be broken on strength of victory.

The Patriots currently have a big edge in this tiebreaker. If the Vikings beat the Bears tonight, the Patriots would have a five-game lead in the category going into Sunday.

That is a lot of ground to make up, but it's not impossible. So it's more accurate to say a win by the Patriots would give New England a high likelihood of earning the three seed. But they wouldn't clinch the spot.

If this is true then hopefully it means Cinncinati will still be playing their starters.

If they lose tonight it will guarantee a top 10 pick, as every other team above them will have 7 wins. If they lose this week and next week, the pick could go as high as 6. Either way it's a ridiculously good pick.

I'm really hoping to see 3-4 INT's out of Jay tonight.

I want to see him hit 30 for the year... and we'll be lucky if he throws 1-2 vs the Lions next week so he's going to need a boatload today.

... who's the last QB to throw 30 INT's in a year?

I bet the Seattle boards must be happy we went 2 for the last 7 also. Just think they have their crappy pick and our mid round 1st.

I hope they have the money to pay 2 1st round picks that high.

Yeah LB out of Nebraska I believe. He had 10 sacks one season.

Michael Croel (born June 6, 1969 in Detroit, Michigan) is a former American football linebacker who played in the National Football League and XFL. In a seven year NFL career, he played for the Denver Broncos, New York Giants, Baltimore Ravens and Seattle Seahawks of the NFL and the Los Angeles Xtreme of the XFL. Croel attended Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School and played college football at the University of Nebraska. Croel was selected by the Broncos in the first round of the 1991 NFL Draft. In 1991 he was chosen as the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and the UPI AFL-AFC Rookie of the Year award. In that same rookie year, Croel recorded ten sacks, his single-season high. In 101 career games, Croel scored one touchdown, recorded 24.0 sacks, two interceptions and 38 yards. Today, Croel resides in Los Angeles, working as a graphic designer, designing movie posters and websites, and lives with his wife and two daughters.

Great game by Cutler.

I'd hardly call 57% sub 200 yards 3td, 1 INT

He's thrown some pretty balls though. That last TD was a great throw.

197 yards on 57% completions with an INT & 3 TD's is not a "great game" by any standard with any receivers.

I mean it's an improvement on the 11 INT's he's thrown in their 3 previous prime time games and all but it sure ain't "great"
